Well, I have to admit, we are 100 % raw but, not 100% organice. My DH is quite willing to be raw but, not nearly as welling to be 100% organic. Reason finances.
I have been slowly weaning him over to organic. It is difficult cause the store is across town and a Walmart Market is at the end of the block.

I think I have won finally.

I took the Wild Oats sales sheet into walmart market to check prices and for a lot of stoff they wre actually more like grape tomatoes 2.62 wm 2.50 w.o., romaine hearts package of three organic 2.78 wm and 2.50 wo...... the list goes on.

I think I will finally win this fight with the sales add for him to actually see the difference, and the new house is within a mile of Wild Oats YEP Yep

Just had to share.

I was always told to check the number on the fruit/vegs & that the higher the 1st number the better. I'm sure other ppl here can give more info on that & all the reasons why, but I was happy to see that the place I buy mine from are all 9's.

Organic produce ALWAYS starts with a "9" and has four other nubers after that. Local I believe starts with an "8" and four other numbers, while imported I think is just four numbers.

Actually "8" does not mean local, "8" means genetically modified.

Avoid "8's" at all costs.

3 or 4 - Produce with a sticker that is 4 digits long and starts with a 3 or 4 is conventional produce
9 - Produce with a sticker 5 digits long starting with a 9 is organic
8 - Produce with a sticker 5 digits long starting with an 8 is genetically modifiied

Here's where I got this info: http://www.grist.org/advice/ask/2004/10/11/umbra-plu/
