Hi, I've switched from rebounding to 1 hour of tae-bo everyday because I haven't seen any improvements in loosing weight or gaining any muscle! So I started back to doing tae-bo again and I'm seeing and feeling a big differense already and I just started a few days ago! The only problem is it's making my metabolism go sky high and just eating 20 bananas a day isn't enough for me! I can tell because I'm so hungry and I feel depressed which normally means I'm not getting enough carbs! That's the reason why I stopped doing tae-bo last time- I couldn't get enough carbs in me and it caused me to eat some bad things which is what is starting to happen again!
I'm eating alot of greens too! I make a couple of large green smoothies everyday! I make a large green smoothie out of 10 bananas, 2 large handfuls of spinach or turnip greens and 1 & 1/2 cups of distilled water. I make two of these and drink them throughout the day for mostly of my carbs & greens. At supper time I eat big bowl full of salad. About 5 cups of romaine, 1 medium sized tomatoe and I'm trying to put something filling into it so I'm going to try adding some eggplant because I've never tried it before, if I don't like it then I guess I'll use squash instead!
I do best by keeping my fats very low and my carbs high! Fats make me fat! So that's why I stick to mostly fruits, greens and fruity vegetables! Plus fats slow me down which is not what I want! I like doing this tae-bo because it gives me energy and gets me going! I just need to know how to get enough carbs! Lately I've been eating some home made orgainc wheat bread that I make for my family (I make vegetable sandwhiches out of them) because it's the only thing that is natural and doesn't cause any sugar problems for me! It's just I know it's not part of the raw diet and it's cooked which isn't good either!
So I'm asking for any ideas anyone can give me! I live in a small area where the grocery store & Wal-mart is about the only stores I have around me except there is a organic store that's about 45 minutes away, but the store isn't that big! So anyone that lives in big areas with all those healthy stores to go to everyweek, you got it lucky!! Anyway thanks everyone in advance for reading this because I know it's long! Have a great raw day!

Blessings,
Melindaxl

have you thought of adding, carrots, dates, raisins, dried figs, beets, grapes,
these I think are pretty high in carbrohydrates.

Dried fruit gives you a lot of carbs and energy. Have you tried jucing? You can get a lot of carbs and calories that you need from that.

I concur with more fresh fruit. Get the very sweet fruits, high in sugar, such as darkest grapes; mangoes; figs; very sweet apples, such as fuji; persimmons, when seasonal; dark cherries;and keep the bananas; drink coconut water.

Add juicy sweet fruits for hydration as well, such as watermelon.

If you still need more then drink fruit juices. Orange and apple are good, as well as grape for a lot of carbs.

These will give you quick carbs good for exercise energy.

You may like to also try grains.

Fat is also a good stored energy, available 24 hours after ingestion. So good fats, such as nuts, seeds, coconut meat, will also give you good energy. You can keep it low -- I agree with that -- but you need some fat, especially if you are an athlete.

Thanks everyone, I'll try that! The only thing is I do have problem digesting dried fruit, but I guess I can add them to smoothies instead of eating them whole! I'll try drinking some grape & apple juice. Orange juice is a little to sour for me right now!
I'll have to figure out something for the fats because I have problems digesting them and them make me feel too full and bloated so that's why I normally stay away from them! The only fats I don't have problems with is oils and they say those you should stay away from because it's processed and not natural!
I'll add juicy watery fruits like watermelon to my diet when they're in season because around here there like 3-4 dollars for a very small one and canalopes are around 3 dollars a piece. It would cost alot of money getting those because I could eat half of a watermelon everyday! I love melons! I might try some grapes too, but last time I did I didn't care for them because they didn't seem to ripen right! They were soft, but sour-so I think they picked them too soon or something!
Anyway thanks everyone for your help! Have a great raw day! I'll start making some changes!

Blessings,

Melindaxl, I wonder whether eating plenty of juicy fruit would help too. I find (and I do not exercise much) that juicy fruit keeps me satisfied and hydrated. When one exercises, the need for water is even higher.

I don't have a footnote for you but there is a widely held protocol that states that the bodies' ability to absorb carbohydrate and synthesize it to glycogen stores(muscle fuel) is enhanced when carbohydrate is ingested within 30 minutes of excecise completion. This is when the enzymes responsible for the uptake of glycogen are most active. Muscles tend to act like a sponge during this 30 minute window. Also the higher the glycemic index of the carbohydrate the faster the uptake by the body. This might help alleviate the depressed feelings you have because you will be making sure your muscles are getting loaded(money in the bank so to speak). Therefore by insuring you are getting maximum absorption of carbohydrate you will more than likely alleviate those depressed feelings(been there and done that).

Could it be that you are exercising too much? We need to find a balnace with everything. Even Dr. Graham who coaches world class athletes tell you in his stuff that you need just enough of everything. Not too much not too little. Your body might be telling you that it is too much.

OR maybe you need to do some easier exercise mixed in with the higher intensity stuff.

Just a thought....

Do you think that Tae-bo is too much cardio for me! Do you think I should try something like the firm. www.getfirmtoday.com do you think something like that would be better! Maybe I'm doing too much cardio! The firm does some cardio, but some weight & abb exercises too! Which might be better? Does it sound like the firm would be better or should I stick to the Tae-bo and work on getting enough carbs in me! I love the way my body feels, but I sure hate how moody & depressed I feel! Plus I hate having to eat some bad carbs in order to get enough in me! I was going to order www.bcelite.com ,but I thought wait a minute maybe it's too much for me and maybe I need to try the firm instead! Those people that are doing tae-bo might not be on the raw diet? So what ever sounds best, I'm going to try to do because I want to get back into good shape with muscle not just getting skinny! So I would love to hear anyones idea's? Thanks for everyones help! Have a great raw day!
