Hey all, so Last week I was starting my new 100% raw lifestyle and it was great, then I made a big mistake, since it was St. Patricks day I had to eat dinner at my parents house, etc, and since then I have been binging worse than I ever have on massive SAD junk foods. I can't stop
I also have my period which I know doesnt help but please help! :(

Yeah, this is always tough. It's like, once you wake that sleeping giant...it's hard to put him back to sleep!
But you can come out of this one way or another. You can either do it cold turkey...get rid of all that stuff you went out and bought during the binge and get some raw things in the kitchen...make your favorites, buy your favorite fruits and veggies.
Or...you can gradually increase the amount of raw food you eat daily. Make a conscious effort to at least make breakfast and lunch raw or something like that.
Also, focus on your goals...reflect on how good you felt when you were eating better, all the benefits you reaped, etc.
It's a process and it might be a little rough at first, but you can get through this. But I think that first you must get rid of the offending food items.

How did you FEEL when you were eating all raw? Do you want that feeling again? What is it that motivated you to become a raw foodist. You have to bring yourself back to that, and just do it. In the past when I slipped, it was very hard to start back up. I think most of that is b/c SAD foods are addictive and once you have some, you only want more. It helped to remind myself that the cravings are only awful for about 4 days to a week and after that it's smooth sailing.
You can do it!!

Yeah I think cold turkey is definitely easier for me. The first 3 days were the hardest after that I felt great once I got all the other excess junk out of my system. So tomorrow I am going to get back on the path. Say some prayers for me please :)

I agree wholeheartedly with Rawkinlocs -- especially with regards to goal setting. Goal Setting is a great technique for accomplishing anything. Some tips for effective goal setting:
- Write your goal(s) down on paper.
- Be specific
- Set a target date to have completed the goal (i.e. 1 week, 1 month, 1 year)
- List the obstacles to overcome
- List the people you need to work with
- List the benefits you will receive from achieving your goal.
- Make your goal achievable/realistic
- Be passionate about your goal
- Make a detailed "game plan" (or plan of attack) for how you will accomplish your goal.
- Review your goal(s) daily. (maybe even once first thing in morning and again at night before bed).
- Keep a journal
Very few people actually write down their goals. However, writing your goals down on paper really can be an effective tool for making your goals/dreams come true.
Before you go to bed tonight, write down your raw goal and touch on some of the tips above. Hopefully, that will get you going in the direction you're seeking.
Wishing you well in your endeavors! Hope this helps. Cheers, Gil
