Hey y'all, today I thought I would share with you my first big temptation on my journey t'wards becoming a raw vegan!
Last week my goal was to become vegetarian (I'm transitioning because I dont have enough money right now to be all raw tomorrow! I would if I did though:) ). And I did just that. It went great! My mom has a hard time with me not eating meat, so, I decided to just be silent about not eating meat in the house and just find my own way around the meals my mom makes. Like, instead of having "hamburgers" with my family last monday I had a "veggie burger" (chopped up some veggies and put it on a bun). But until today I hadn't really been tempted to eat meat at all...
Okay, I come from a really country southern home cooked meal kinda family and everything, I mean EVERYTHING is seasoned with meat!!! My mom made pinto beans (boiled w/ pork for seasoning), cornbread (w/ bacon grease), greens (w/ hamhock), AND she even made a vegetable soup, which I thought I could eat but then I found out that it was acually "chicken soup"!!! So, I was thinking to myself "what am I gonna eat? I can't eat any of this stuff?!". I then told myself to MAKE MYSELF SOMETHING (lol). I'd just got back from the store for buying fruits and vegetables and I was asking myself that!? So, I then asked myself "Do you really want to make excusses and eat whatever now and then regret it later?" THEN my wondefully awesome sister Kyla called (she's the one that told me about raw!!) and do you know the first thing she said to me??? "Hey! So, your vegetarian now! *screaming of excitement for me* Thats so cool!" (I left a message telling her about it last night) and so I talked with her, then when I got off the phone (btw, I didn't tell her that I was just thinking about eating some of mama's pinto beans and cornbread :p ), I chose not to eat any of it!! I'm so happy :D ! I ended up juicing some oranges, eating a banana, and making a really huge salad w/ some avo dressing and ended up putting away for later because I got so full! :D I'm also trying to eat as much fruits and veggies as I can while being veg. I'm finding that I like fruits alot more then vegetables...
Thanks for reading!
