Is there an acceptable alternate method to posting food pictures other than using so much of this board's space and costing Alissa $$ ??
I really love to look at others food creations.
I am inspired by them and they help me with new ways to prepare old recipes.
I know that there are rules on this board - so, is there an acceptable way to post them using our own space? Maybe a link or something?
Any ideas?
Maybe I will gather enough nerve to post a creation or two of mine..... :D

hi, i found this link here:
http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10904
it says we can use a link in our post to our uploaded pics.
I also like looking at the raw food photos, it is both an inspiration to try new things, and it gives me an idea of what i am trying to achieve when i try a new recipe. it would be nice to see your raw creations :)
best wishes

That's what I do - I upload my photos elsewhere, then just include a link. You can even have the image show in your post, but come from elsewhere. Just use a website that lets you host free photos, upload, and copy the link to your photo. Then include here.
I love pictures too!!! In fact here's one of my favourite raw food cake!! And it doesn't cost Alissa anything!

Hi!
I'm new to the board though I've been perusing it for some time. Ü
Thought I would mention that there are several sites that let you upload pics right off your computer for free and with no signing up.
Here is one:
http://www.imageshack.us/
You just click the button to upload your pic and then it gives you the code to stick in the message. I use the last link (the direct link) then click on the Insert Image button on the message menu and paste it in. The file size just needs to be 1 meg or less. Another nice feature is it gives you the option to resize the pixal size of your photos. That way you can keep them under 600 x 600. I used it below for the Waldorf salad pic.
Also, there are several free photo manipulation programs that let you make pics smaller.
Here is one if anyone is interested: http://picasa.google.com/
I'm enjoying the board!

I know I'm a tease... I just couldn't resist. I just love that cake. I'll be back to share it soon!
MODERATORS:
Potentially bad news - my husband who is very technological says that yes we're saving Alissa storage space, however doubling the bandwidth usage. When photos are displayed in page he thinks Alissa's site would be pulling the image in, then passing it on to the viewer. He also said if it was a link instead it would not cause the same issue.
Can anyone confirm this? It sounded like bandwidth was the problem, in which case external hosting doesn't really help matters much.

That's a common misconception, but no. Only the bandwidth of the site hosting the image is affected.
For image hosting, I would recommend http://www.imageshack.us or http://www.photobucket.com
