ok..i just started the master cleanse today and wanted to know if it is ok to do cardio while i'm fasting. i have been on a ball for the 3rd week in a row with working out 5 days a week and dont want to loose momentum so i decided to cut out the weight training while fasting and just keep my loving relationship with the treadmill and eliptical. is this a good idea?

Hi Soprofound
I did the master cleanse for earlier this year started in january, stopped in mid-february....Initially I was worried about doing it but because it is tiring when you are cleansing. I mean that takes energy (the releasing of toxins and such) and then to exert more energy on top of that was a challenge for me. I also have 3 part-time jobs but the one that really got to me was the weekend one (just 22 hours on the weekend but you stand the entire time). I say go ahead a do the cardio and strength training. Just listen to your body. That's what I had to eventually do. Like for instance, instead of doing cardio that was really strenuous (like tae bo boot camp, or running, or elliptical) I would just do a brisk walk for 30 or 40 minutes instead of the usual 60 minutes of cardio. And for the weight training, I just tried to focus on the major muscle groups and did light strength training. Now that Spring has sprung I am going to begin another cleanse and afterwards, I am going to begin my raw food journey. So, I hope that my words help. Above all, else, just listen to your body...towards the end, I had to squeeze the juice of an orange and drink that on days that I worked on the weekends, or right before working out...I didn't want to stray from the MC but it ended up helping me out and I did lose 21 pounds and gain some great new insight about myself and what my strengths are. I am starting another MC tomorrow because I believe that I will receive something great from the experience. I am excited. Because when I start my raw food journey, I will be in California (visiting my best friend in May for 23 days)...I can't wait to find a raw bar or something like that to go to. Do what is best for you...tailor your cleansing to what your body needs. Take care soprofound... :)
