I tried these from the site From Sad to Raw. They are great and really handle that sweet tooth. Thought you would like to try them. I did not use the sesame seeds. Also I put 1 cup coconut into the food processor first to shred it fine and then put it into a bowl so I can roll the balls into it.
Carob Almond Balls
1 c. sunflower seeds
1 c. raisins
2 T. raw honey
2 T. carob powder
1 c. almond butter
1/2 c. sesame seeds (optional)

In food processor, chop all seeds/nuts. Add remainder of ingredients to make smooth thick paste. Roll into 1" balls,(1 tablespoon size) then roll in finely shredded coconut.

Makes 2 dozen

*** note from Michelle: the sesame seeds are optional, but I suggest using them --- makes the texture like a Nestle Crunch Bar

Variation:
Trail Mix Balls
1 c. Raw Trail Mix (brazil nuts, almonds, pecans, sunflower seeds, walnuts, raisins, unsweetened coconut flakes)
Blend in food processor til mixed and chopped well.
Add 1 c. raisins, 1/2 c. honey, 1 c. sunflower seeds, 1/2 c. sesame seeds.
Process until well mixed/chopped. Roll into balls and roll in shredded coconut. Put in fridge to harden.

I agree--this is a very tasty recipe! I love taking balls like these with me to the movie theatre!

RawGranny, these sound delicious! I'm going to try them just as soon as I finish eating my raw chocolate cake! :)

Hi, I tried it and it was delicious. I've omitted sesame seeds, almond butter and raisins and added coconut flakes (it's much smaller than flakes but I don't know the right word).

I have a question. Can I replace some honey with water? I'd like to know it before I try it because i don'l want to spoil it. Thanks in advance.
