I did. Lasted 3 days. Couldn't function at all. Just wanted to sleep.... more like a semi-catatonic state ... which is why I stopped.

i just started mine today so i'll tell ya...how it goes.
you just make a tonic out of fresh organic lemons, grade b maple syrup and cayenne peppers. the peppers are a little hot for me so i just made capsules out of it (you take three a day) it's funny, lol wheni took one this morning, it made my chest a lil warm when it was dissolving.

Doing my first master cleanse right now. I started yesterday. I've been preparing with a 14 day cleanse before this. Been eating raw since last June.
I'm tired, very mellow, but I'm sure this is the worst of it. It's 4pm and I'm in my p.j.'s, planning on getting my kids in their p.j.'s soon and we're all staying home to take it easy. Honestly, it's not fun being so tired, but I'm raising twins and I really think my body needs this rest more than I would think.
Regarding hunger, it goes away immediately once I drink the lemonade.

i'll tell you, the third day seems to be the HARDEST in regards to craving and hunger...after that it is a breeze...you'll do great!!

I can't believe I'm asking this...but my cold seems to be settling into too much sinus pressure, maybe a sinus infection. It's getting bad and I really don't want to stop the cleanse.
Is it terrible to be on antibiotics while on the cleanse? And this is a last resort...I've done everything holistic that I can think of. And I still don't want to call my doctor.
Thanks!

I did it in Jan - mid Feb this year...the beginning days were surprisingly okay, it was at the end (the last few days) that cravings came out of the wood work, out of the closet...they came from everywhere....I started craving foods I hadn't ate in a long time...I guess it was my body's last ditch effort to persuade me to go back to the foods it was used to receiving...I was tired because of the three part-time jobs but I had a great amount of focus and insight on many things....I experienced peace.....

I forgot to add that I just started another cleanse for to celebrate Spring and all the new beginnings to come....I did lose 21 pounds which I was worried that it would all just bounce right back on (like it was only water or something) but I think I have ony fluctuated between 4-5 pounds since I stopped the MC in Feb.... I am now doing a second cleanse in preparation for Alissa's 30 day challenge and because fasting allows me do go deeper within and really focus on some changes that I am preparing for (one of them being moving to Southern California this year)

I did the master cleanse last year and going to do it next week for 14 or more days.
It was awesome. Hard at first because I was so sick but it got better. I lost 15 lbs in 12 days and my blood chemistry tests were GREAT!!!
Cholesterol dropped 60 points
Triglycerides went down 100 points
Everything was just awesome!
Good luck!

For those of that did the whole ten days , how did you make it through the cravings for food? and also the sleepiness and tiredness from no food and detox especially when you had to go to work , or cleanse house, take care of family, etc?How did you not revert back to eating once you got stressed out?

TwinYoga,
What was the 14 day cleanse you say that you did prior to this?

Since I'm on day three I can answer some of your questions. First, plan ahead! Don't have a crazy schedule and don't make dinner plans with anyone other than those that support your cleanse. My family is having a lazy week, we're in p.j.'s around dinner time. And I planned their dinner menu a while ago so I don't have to think about food, I just prepare it and that's that.
To get through food cravings, just drink! It really works. Drink, drink, drink. The maple syrup cuts right through the craving.
I take care of my 2 year old twins and do all of the domestic stuff around the house. I planned a light week, am watching a bit more t.v. with the kids than usual, and am napping when they nap. Just plan ahead and enjoy being a little bit lazy while going through the detox.
Good luck.

lavendarJ,
What was your diet like before going into your first MC? What was it like from the time you ended your first cleanse til the time that you began your second? Also, you did your first cleanse for 1 and a half months, or am I reading that wrong? Thanks!

A friend of mine and I did the cleanse in January for 2 weeks...it was great! The first couple of days were hard...headaches, body aches from detoxing. The first several days all we could talk about was what would be our first food...ummm...pizza...but then by about day 4 all I was craving was healthy raw food...hmmms...interesting that our bodies know what is best...so I started looking on the internet and found out about the raw/living food lifestyle.
At the end of the cleanse I had lost 15 lbs...which is great, but more importantly, my asthsma symptoms were gone...I can breathe so deeply now...amazing! I have been eating about 75% raw since Jan 30...I feel so much healthier...
So...back to your question...the cleanse is great...I will continue to do it twice a year from now on.
PS. my son who is a junior in college and who had lost about 50 lbs on atkins became interested in the cleanse, so over his spring break came home to cleanse:)...same thing happened to him...about half way through he announced he was going vegan! This is from a meat and potatoes boy! This week he told me he is feeling great, his metabolism is kicked up, his insomnia is gone along with HIS asthsma:)
Now I have a husband and 3 more sons to convince...but I am sure that they will see and want to change too.
Good luck to you!

Hello stRAWberry
Yep, about a month an a half. I started my cleanse the first week of January on Wednesday of that week I believe...I ended it in mid-february (i think the 13th)....before that i had just been eating the wrong combinations and also processed foods...i had a heart-to-heart with myself because i knew i was actively choosing to eat wrong just because i had gotten comfy with being in a slump..got tired of being tired about being overweight...i have had a pattern of gaining and losing for too long...i am finally ready to maintain weight loss and eat for health and longevity for a lifetime and not just a season...so right before the cleanse (3 days before actually starting the MC) I ate all the oranges, grapefruits and lemons I wanted (this was a cleanse to help rid all the toxins from those nasty mucous-building processed foods I was eating like chips, saltines, etc.)....
initially i was planning on just cleansing for a few weeks, but when the time came around, i just didn't want to stop and i felt good...i was tired because of working..but i felt good mentally...felt fresh and clear about my thoughts and decisions, not as decisive...
i didn't really have any major detox systems...i think the only thing i can think of was being really tired after the first couple of weeks because of work ...and there was a couple of times when my calves felt achy and cramped while i was working out, but that was it...the main thing i noticed from cleansing it that i wasn't so indecisive and uncertain about various things, i was physically tired but i had clarity...the master cleanse really helped me to understand what i can live without...

Hi
I am on day 8 of a fast. The first days were a juice fast and ever since then I have been doing the Master Cleanse. So I am on day 6 of the Master Cleanse. I am really enjoying it. If I get hungry I just drink some more. I make a big 32 oz container in the morning and basically just sip on that all morning until it is done, which is usually after lunch. Then I make another one that I finish up around super time. Then I have water and the herbal laxative tea at night. I am really enjoying the cleanse and actually find it to be easier than a regular juice fast.

MissionaryMama,
What laxative tea are you using? I'm on the first day of the master cleanse and was told by MissLinda that the senna tea, I planned on using for a laxative during this time, is harsh giving her heart palpations and cramps. Several others on the board agreed in different posts I read.
I see the tea box says not to use more than 1-2 weeks without medical advice. Hmm?
I thought maybe I could dilute the senna tea for milder effects.
Do you do the salt water flush? If so, do you do it every day?

No need to answer Missionary Mama, I saw you answered my questions on the Chris Fasting thread.... :D
I guess I'll try diluted Senna tea tonight....

I have been using Smooth Move by Traditional Medicinals for my laxative tea. Unfortunately it makes me wake up around 5 am everday and I must run to the bathroom immediately, which isn't so pleasant. But after that, and then a couple of additional slight movements after I do the saltwater flush, I am good for the rest of the day. I am really enjoying the Cleanse. I'm feeling very focused and energized. I sometimes miss the act of eating and the taste of food, but I just remind myself that i have the rest of my life to eat yummy raw goodies! Good luck everyone! :D

Hey guys,
I'm on Day 6 of the MC and so far I've felt great overall. I've had plenty of energy during the day and have been going to Bikram yoga in the evenings to use the sauna heat to accelerate the cleansing. I've lost 9 lbs at the half way point and feel more aware and committed to my overall health and the raw lifestyle.
My only problem is I've felt terribly anti-social so the past few nights I've taken a book or a friend to a local coffee shop. I can only drink herbal tea, but it feels good to be out and about.

Tomorrow will be day 19 for me, when I initially started this second MC I was at a weight of 224/225 I think. I am physically tired but I feel good emotionally and mentally. Right now I am at 200 pounds I think. The official weigh in for me is usually Sunday mornings. I think I am going to be under 200 pounds. I don't care if it is only 199; I haven't been under 200 in a long time and I am very eager and anxious to see the scale this week. Monday will be 20 days and I have to determine if I am going to continue.

I do one every month for 7 days. I did the first one after I was raw for a while so I didnt really go through detox. My energy level is way UP after I do one so my experiences with it have been positive through and through! :)
