Hi I am vickie and I wanted to take a minute and introduce myself. My husband and I started all raw 3/15/06. No transition period just cleaned out the kitchen restocked it and took a jump.

I am very proud to say that in the first 6 days we have not had any problems staying on board. Which is really good for us. We are professional entertainers and everywhere we go it is a party and people want us to join in.

Any advice or encouragement will be more than welcomed.

Hi Vickie and welcome. I hope that the first 6 days will be the first of many.

Vickie,

Congratulations on taking the quick plunge. It's often so much easier than trying to transition. Wishing you health and continued success in your raw journey.

Welcome to this Board.
Entertainers! Wow - sounds like a fun and interesting career.

As far as having stuff to munch at all those parties ... perhaps you'd want to make up spiced nuts and such to have on hand to munch. Simply soak nuts of your choice --- I do almonds, pumpkin seed, sunflower seed, brazil nuts mainly. (If you are using walnuts, you don't have to soak them first). Then after soaking, rinse really well. Then cover the nuts with fresh pure water (just enough to cover them), add some celtic salt, and spices such as cayenne pepper, chili powder, garlic powder, tumeric ... whatever blend you find interesting. If you want a sweet/sour nut, add some honey or date soak water. Let the nuts marinate in this mixture overnight ... drain, and dehydrate until crunchy. They are so good.

You could skip one step in this process by putting all the spices in the original nut soak water if you want. But, vary the spices until you find a combination that really works for your taste buds.

If you like sweet things - have a tiny container with a few medjool dates on hand to munch on-- they are wonderful.

Usually I have an orange in my purse. I use it as a salad dressing if at a salad bar (just cut in half and squeeze on salad). If I haven't used it during the day, I eat it when I get home in the evening as a snack.

You'll find lots of quick things that work for you when you are out with a crowd.

Best of luck on your journey!!

Thanks that is a great idea for the nuts. When we entertain however, we usually don't bring anything all is provided for us.

I have been declining saying I ate before coming.
