Hi!

I just wanted to try and inspire all of you into trying to incorporate excercise into your weekly routine (I say weekly because some may not be able to excercise everyday).

I have started to walk to work and back on nice days. It is about 13 blocks each way (about one hour and ten minutes total). A perfect workout that is easy on the knees and yet burns calories along with all of the other benefits of excercising. I will be able to walk more in a few weeks when spring arrives.

I got back from walking from work at 4:45 pm and 3 1/2 hours later my cheeks are still rosy and flushed and I still feel great! If anyone is able to walk to work, I encourage it. Plus it does not feel like you are excercising because it is to get to work.

You will feel so great and greatly decrease the risks for many many illnesses and diseases.

Good luck,

k :)

You are right in this. I work from home and do not have this motivation. I do not mind walking but need to have someplace to walk to. I do not seem to be able to motivate myself to just walk if I have no place that I need to go. I would get a dog if I had an outdoor space. I would have no excuse for not walking if I had a dog.

Hi you guys

I had to add to this because walking is a great way to start. I have eaten high raw since Jan. Did the start slow thing of just getting used to eating more fresh fruits & veg. I remember being suprised by my contentness of grabbing apples, pears and some left over 'kids' grapes for my am snack at work. I completely changed years of coffee only, or bad breakfast sandwiches for the "protein" ha ha. But it was the raw food that gave me the energy. BOING!!!! so simple huh Well, the first two weeks I walked on old rickety treadm ill just 30 minutes, First week 3x, second week 5x. Continued the going higher with raw food and more energy. I'm now at week 10 or so and working out 5-6 times per week. I do 1/2 weght days then cardio. I really went to the basement and blew the dust off old VHS tapes that I order from tv years earlier. Seems with each workout (and green smoothie.....:) the energy snowballs!
So watch out!
