I made Alissa's Hot Chips recipe, but then I thought to add 1-2 TBSP Mexican Seasoning. After I put them on the mesh screen I sprinkled nutritional yeast on them. I tasted 1 before it was dehydrated and I really like them!!! They should be done tonight and I'll post a final critique.

Oh, yum. That sounds so good.

I hope the nutritional yeast you put on doesn't stink as it's dehydrating! I made some cauliflower popcorn and sprinkled that with yeast and BOY! did that ever stink !

Don't know if it was the yeast or the cauliflower or both, but I'll never make that again. :)

I would almost guess that it was the cauliflower. I've made sweet potato chips and sprinkled them with nutritional yeast, and they were YUMMY! Can't wait to hear how the RAWRITOS turn out!

okay-they aren't quite crispy yet-but I did learn 1 thing-hot pepper/chili powder gets stronger as they dehydrate!!!! (I need a fire breathing icon! )

OK so I've got to hurry and order my book. I don't know why I've been hesitating. I guess it's because I don't have a dehydrater, and I'm afraid every dish will call for one.

They do sound very yummy. The only little niggle at the back of my mind is whether nutritional yeast is really raw??? I had a feeling I'd read somewhere that it isn't. does anyone know definitely?

I'm not sureif it's raw, but I know in Alissa's book on p. 340, she uses NY in a sweet potato chip recipe! (and I trust Alissa!) I made them her way and they were great! Now I have to plan a trip to Whole Foods to get some more NY and try them your way. Thanks.

No-it's not raw, but neither is vanilla, or some of the spices and/or herbs we use. I don't worry about it cause it's so miniscule. Just like miso, Bragg, etc. the positives far outweight any negetives, if they even exist. :D

Thanks for the info about the nutritional yeast -- I should have read Alissa's book more closely! If it's good enough for Alissa, it's good enough for me!

Now this sounds divine - can you list the recipe? Or is it in Alissa's book?

I haven't finished reading the entire book yet.
