made a creamy soup with thawed frozen peas, butternut squash, a carrot, an apple, some tahini, lemon juice, garlic, curry, basil, ginger, braggs (controversy notwithstanding), and chopped up purple cabbage and cauliflower on top (shopping day, was using up the little bits of everything still in the fridge) and it was really tasty. And very colorful-I"m calling it my green, white and purple soup!

Did you blend all the above together minus the cabbage? That sounds really good! I'm sure my guinea pig would love to lick my bowl, lol! He's a pea man!!

Are frozen peas raw? I guess I assumed they weren't....I like them, and wouldn't mind them gently warmed in a dehydrator, in a soup like you mentioned! Sounds great!

I know this is a dumb question, but if you grow your own peas, do you just soak and sprout them, or do you have to soak them? I guess my question is, since I've never had truly fresh beans or peas, what will I have to do to them BEFORE they are edible? Thanks

You can just chuck them out of the pod and eat them totally raw! YUM!!

Thanks...well now I know another plant I have to add to my small garden space! I love peas! We are talking about the sweet green kind? I know there are all types.....I can't wait! Sounds like DH may have to re-evaluate my garden space!

I remember a while back I was so disappointed when I found out that frozen peas are not raw. I absolutely LOVE them.
