I just turned on the T.V. and there's an interview in the next hour featuring Carol Alt (past supermodel) regarding her new book "Eating in the Raw". I can't wait to hear the interview!

I hope the babies are good and not screaming or anything like that. :)

Have a nice raw day.

I was a little dissapointed. I thought she did a great job explaining the variety of foods and how she feels so good. But I know that people who question this way of living are going to what proof..numbers, statistics, etc. I was hoping she would have that information.

Anyway, I'm sure it made people curious and hopefully willing to try it.

Also, what's this about unpasteurized milk and raw meats?

Yes, I saw it. A bit disappointed. Food looked great. Not enough time for the segment to be presented. Yeah, i heard the milk and meat deal. I couldn't believe what I was hearing.

I didn't see the show, but re: raw meat and dairy; you have some raw foodists who aren't raw-VEGAN, but choose to also incorporate raw milk, raw meat, raw eggs into their diets (YUCK!...sorry) I guess because they don't feel it's possible to get adequate calcium and protein through a raw-vegan diet perhaps.

I have her book and was surprised that she included raw meats, fish, and eggs.

I just got done reading her new book however I did not catch teh interview.. Yes, she does eat raw meat and fish and she also consumes raw dairy. It seems that there are a lot of different kinds of "raw" people out there!

I saw the show also, after I heard about it from my mother.
I wasn't impressed with her "version" either. I have no desire to ever eat raw milk, meat, or eggs.

Her lentil salad looked great, though!!

I've heard she is really into the sprouting and fermenting thing. That is fine for some people, but it's so time consuming to me. On my first round of raw I had things soaking, sprouting and dehydrating all over my kitchen. I had rejuvelac going, nut cheese hanging from cheesecloth and dripping into bowls, and sunflower yogurt coagulating. And most of it came out tasting pretty bad to me. It was very little about fresh fruits, smooties & salads.

I have found it to be the same way. Now I don't bother sprouting at all. I love the simple thing as you can tell by my journal.

I agree. I'm enjoying raw much better with basic fruits, veggies, nuts and seeds. It's a lot easier, too!
