When I make it the top is as thick as the bottom. I will try it your way next time. It looks nice. Hope you (no, I know you) will enjoy it.

Sport,
I know what you mean... I don't think I put quite enough lemon in it... the processor had a difficult time working the dates... they kept getting stuck on the sides and the blades weren't reaching them. Meh... it's o'kay... just came out a bit thicker than I think is normal... but it's all good ;)

YES, from Alissa's book. I have a couple raw *cook* books, and Alissa's is by far the best. Everything I've tried from there is easy, and great tasting!

IT is actually only my second raw food book. The first I got two years ago, and it's good. But after trying some of Alissa's stuff I cannot wait (and neither can my kids and husband) for her book to show up.

I loved Alissa's chocolate cake and the frosting was amazing. I actually made up a bowl of the frosting on its own and scoffed it. Felt very guilty afterwards as it was actions like that that made me put on the weight I lost in Jan 06.
Also, the banana cream pie is fab - I added some coconut oil to the filling as it was too runny otherwise. It meant it could be cut like a cake and 'sat up' a bit better on the plate.
My meat-eating, body-building 19 year old son loved both of the above and could not believe that they were raw and healthy.

When I make my Date Nut Torte, I add a little water to the icing and it spreads better. It looks more like icing. I also frost all sides of the torte too. It taste the same. My husband and I love it. And he isn't doing raw. Yours looks great though. :o
