If anyone here likes almond milk like I do, I have a nice easy recipe for it. I just got a SoyQuick milk maker the other day, and have been making raw almond milk with it - I know you can also use a blender and screen the pulp off. Anyway, I haven't been able to really get a good flavor down until this morning.

Today I made a little over a quart of almond milk and then added to it 3 T. raw honey, 1 tsp. sea salt, and 1/4 tsp. cinnamon. Wow! It's wonderful. I added a banana to about a cup of it and made a smoothie. Really, really nice. I just had to share...

How much pulp is left????? I would really love to find an easier way to make the almond milk. And this sound hopeful.... Tell me more!

None. That's one of the reasons why I like it so much. I just didn't have the proper tools to strain all the pulp out when I was using my vitamix. Plus, I love kitchen gadgets that make life better.

Funny to read this! I just made almond milk using some nutmilk bags I had bought 3 months ago. I already had the almonds soaked and dehydrated, and then just blended 1 part almonds to 3 parts dist. water. Then I added some honey, carob to taste and about 1 frozen banana....I just finished it off, and sat down to check the boards....and here you are. I'm an almond milk fan now, I like it at least sweetened with carob (I guess I was craving SAD chocolate milk) and this hit the spot!

Along this same vein...

My six year-old is starting to become aware of her health and the nutrition connection. She often asks, "does this have bad fat or good fat," and "does this have sugar in it," and is this good for me?" It makes my little heart soar to hear it.

But just this morning, I made her a bowl of raw granola and offered for her to eat it as-is or with milk. She asked if it was good for her, and I told her that the almond milk that I make is better. She said she would try it. And her response made me cry - she said she liked the almond milk more, and wanted it because she knew it was better for her. I'm getting teary just typing these words.

Please allow me a moment of mommy mush time. It's a parental right you know. ;)

LET'S HEAR IT FOR ALMOND MILK!!! HIP HIP, HOORAH!!

How sweet, my little girl is getting ready to turn 6, so I can relate on how absolutely cute they are at this age. I have two older boys (almost age 11, and 8) and her thought process is so much more like mine, it's fun to see her wheels turn....she's a little woman you know ;)

...only too well. We are just stewards of our children and I pray each day that I am a positive influence on my children - in every way. I want so very much for them to understand the power they have to maintain their health through good nutrition and raw foods. So far, my older two have been more reluctant to try the raw foods I prepare. The younger ones seem to really love it. But I have always believed that we inspire through example. It seems to be paying off in this case...!!!
