Hey guys- Are marciano cherries, you know, te ones in the jar, considered raw? I think they would taste so good inside of Alissa's fudge balls! I was going to buy some today, but didn't know if any of you knew off hand if they were okay. Thanks in advance :D

I am willing to wager that they are not raw - -remember Alissa saying if it does not saw RAW it is most likely is not raw

I would not think they are raw. Plus, isn't the juice a syrup? I thought about buying them last night myself, but I didn't think it would be raw, since they are not even in the produce section. Good luck Feelin Good!

They are cooked in the syrup. Very unhealthy plus they have chemicals and food dye in them

Thanks guys... I figured. I haven't had them in years... I didn't know it was syrup they were in, but now that I think about it, they are because we used to put the 'juice' in our 7-up as kids. Crazy... I will play it safe and just use fresh raspberries like I should have in the first place.
Thanks for the input guys!

Those things are nasty. I met a person who "manufactured" them years ago, they go through all kinds of bleaching and lye preparations if I remember right, before being dyed and soaked in sugar syrup.

Try dried sour cherries. They are excellent & bursting with flavor! They look just like craisins.

Yikes Smasty... I'm staying away from the marciano cherries... I had no idea! I just made the fudge using frozen raspberries- it turned out excellent, infact, I posted a picture! Thanks again everyone!
