Hi everyone,
I am pretty new to the raw food lifestyle. I am from Montana, where this diet is practically unheard of. When I was recently visiting New York, I went to dinner at a Raw Food restaurant and was amazed by the wonderful tastes and how good I felt. I have a cookbook that I got at the restaurant, but all of the meals are so time consuming and expensive. Is it possible to eat raw without purchasing a dehydrater and spending days preparing or soaking the food?
Thanks for any help

Hi there, welcome to the board. A number of us are smiling right now because one of our best known and most loved members lives in Montana. :)

Which restaurant? I'm guessing maybe Pure Food & Wine? And you got the book "Raw Food, Real World"? If so, you got a great book, but one I'd personally find a little intimidating to start with. My advice would be to buy Alissa's book and DVD as soon as you can, because she's got a very down to earth, practical approach to all this that keeps it fun and pretty simple. The more complex stuff like they do in high end restaurants you can work into as it appeals to you to do so.

But to answer your specidic question, yes, you can make good, tasty, nutritious raw food without special equipment or spending days on preparation. And there's lots of good information on this forum to help you do that, and great people to answer your questions.
