Greetings all,
I just got off of the phone talking with a very dear friend of mine whom I haven't spoken with in years!
We were talking and catching up and of course, got on the subject of raw foods. She shared with me that her body is SO toxic that she can't even eat raw fruits and veggies without regurgitating it right back up (her words).
She said the ONLY things she can eat that her body doesn't react to in that manner are apples (and she must eat that slowly) and lettuce.
But all other raw items...melons, oranges, grapes, and everything in between, she can't keep down...it comes right back up!
She would like to break this cycle and help her body to be able to tolerate fresh foods as she said she loves fruit and veggies but just can't eat them...according to her, the fresher something is, the worse.
So, would a fast be in order for her or what?? I know she has a lot of health issues as well but things sound really bad for her to only be able to tolerate two (known) raw food items.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions I can share with her!

Hi Rawkinlocs
I would say a fast or some cleanse maybe a full baoy cleanse or different one for maybe a colon and liver cleanse first.

Hi Rawkinlocs!! This would be just my opinion. As everyone is different and everyone needs to 'apply' the necessary cleansing method that would be less harmful, I would say to get your friend to slow down on her SAD food intake and do have lightly cooked vegetables like steamed broccolis/carrots/snap peas etc. Along with that vegetables to have it with steamed brown rice. What rice does is that it absorbs toxins from the colon. She may want to spray some coconut oil on the rice. As for the steamed veggies, please do not coat it with heavy seasonings. Just some light oil and a sprinkling of celtic sea salt or even herbs. Have her do a good food combining for her sake. Fruits only, or apples in her case, whenever hungry, in the morning. Then have those lightly steamed veggies with a little brown rice for lunch and/or dinner. Have her vary her veggies so she would not feel bored and start to 'stray'. She can have meat but do that for lunch with veggies without the rice. Snack on apple whenever she is hungry but I doubt it if she does good proper food combining with the brown rice for it fills you up. Its best she observes this for a month then after which she can introduce slowly some fasting and even an enema to removed that clogged intestines. Hope this helps.
my best to you and your friend ~ a

:) Cherie,
it sounds like her stomach, the terrain and the acids are not working properly. I'm not sure a fast would be good b/c that can be irritating to stomach acids and ........if anything and i know ya'll have been hearing me sing this too much but the GUT lining is what i'd gently fix first,,,,,,,,aid it with a really good vegan kefir or probitoic and see how she tolerated the apple without having to chew so intensely.......really sounds like she needs to start form step once and work her way up. i think since we don't know her condition a fast would be questionable.
do you have any other additional info on her health?

My guess is, that she has leaky gut like me, and has the food allergies that comes with that. With a leaky gut, you get allergic to the things you eat a lot of, until there is nothing left to eat. Leaky gut also, logically, makes it impossible to get the vitamins, minerals and so forth, that you need. The body starts to attack itself, and the diarrhea/constipation cycle is a problem. Candida is very likely to be part of it too.
I realize that I may be mirroring myself onto her, because I see my own problems in what you described. But if she *is* like me, and like MissLinda, and others, then she needs to heal her intestines, so she can function again and eat normally.
There doesn't seem to be "one plan fits all" regarding this. I know, that personally I am avoiding the foods that I am allergic to now, including all fruits, and I drink soothing tea's, to help the intestinal lining.
Secondly, I know that this is never going to clear up, unless I get the old problems in the intestines cleared up. That means an intestinal cleanse, and a parasite cleanse, followed by pro-biotics. I don't have to explain why, I figure, because you already know a lot about all of this, I'm sure.
Thirdly, in my meditation and talks with Spirit, I was told that the emotional work is very important in healing a leaky gut. The leaky gut, is in the solar plexus area, and my emotional work is in that area as well. (It is the center of one's being, and has to do with energy. Giving and taking energy, and not letting energy "leak", etc.)
My 2 cents. All the best.

Actually, re-reading what Rawkinloc's posted, I WAS mirroring myself. I do think an intestinal cleanse is in order, though. Ahem. :o :o

Hi all and thanks for the responses and suggestions!!
I agree that she probably needs some intestinal healing. I don't know much about what ailments she has, but I know that when I last saw her, there were some health challenges.
I will share what has been written here with her. Thank you again!
I agree on above--since I suffer from similar ailments..
Can she handle blended smoothies and soup--when my gut was the worst..after a fast i blended at least one -2 meals a day???
Has she been to a dr, had a colonoscopy to rule out anything major??? I have had a few???
Is there anything going on in her life minus food that could cause stress b/c when i am under stress my gut gets the brunt of it..
Just a thought...keep us posted okay!!

Hi JMD!
Thank you for your input. I don't think she is able (at this time) to even do smoothies or blended soups. She was telling me that if she even eats tomato sauce, it HAS to be the processed, canned/jarred kind because if it's made from scratch with fresh ingredients and then cooked, she can only eat so much of it and then she hurls it.
As she said, the fresher something is, the worse her body's reaction is to it. That's awful scary!
WOW--I just worry that her system will be too acidic?? I am so sorry to hear that....
I am stumped....truly....Is she using all organic produce and washing it (i am grasping at straws here??)

Without reading the others' replies (forgive me if I am repeating something) Here's my suggestion.
I would go on a juice fast, slowly incorporating a veggie here and a fruit there, until I am able to tolerate most all freshly made juices. Then ,I would slowly add in some fiber from the produce untill my body could get used to digesting raw roughage. I would continue to add a little more fibre until I was ready to try a whole piece of fruit/veggie.
My idea is that maybe the colon has become so relaxed and the muscles so unused to NOT having to digest fibre from raw foods, that it shocks the system when raw fibre is introduced thereby causing compromised digestion (or indigestion).
I would also give myself warm raw soups, the warmth bringing comfort and calm to an otherwise upset tummy, but just a little at a time. Even warm teas: chamomile, spearmint, peppermint perhaps sweetened with a dollop of raw agave/honey. These help tummy aches and upset digestion and so does papaya which has an enzyme that aids in digestion.
One step at a time. :)
You're a good friend for thinking about her. ;) she is very lucky, indeed!

sounds to me like a few colonics, a couple of days apart and water and apple juice fasting. She can make it on 3-4 days water and apple juice. I bet if she had a few colonics, and bed rest, she'd feel SOOO much better in just a few days. then go from there.

I would have her do a liver flush. It is very helpful with digestion. A lot of people get rid of a lot of digestive issues after they start doing them. I got the information off of http://curezone.com/cleanse/liver/default.asp. I have done two and I am acutally getting ready to do another tonite. My rosacea cleared up after I did my second one. They are wonderful!

i'd keep it simple and eat apples and lettuce until she wants/can handle other things.
i agree with aisah too

Thanks all!
JMD - I asked her about the organic produce as I was thinking the same thing and she said that it's usually conventionally-grown produce so that could definitely be something to consider as well!
Goddess_girl - I asked her about orange juice and she said she can't drink that either BUT...I'm almost certain she meant the bottled stuff.
I think that as it's been suggested, she definitely needs the intestinal healing and cleansing first and foremost and then try to introduce some organic things into her system, starting with what she cantolerate...the apples and lettuce.
I'm not even certain how much she's willing to even do any of this...I just wanted to get some suggestions for her to share with her in case she DOES want to help herself. She kinda sounded like she does want to be able to eat better, but just "can't" right now.
I'll report back later with any updates. Thanks again to ALL of you!!
