I was wondering the same thing! Except I'm having a bunch of people over next Wednesday.

The last time I had to entertain at the last minute I made "Mock Sour Cream and Chive Dip" from Jennifer Cornbleet's book Raw Food Made Easy for 1 or 2 People. They ended up devouring it with an entire head of Cauliflower!! I was so shocked!!

Date nut torte wins them over ever time! I especially love it topped with fresh blueberries or Saskatoon berries -- so good.

Also, nut and seed pates with veggies and flax crackers for dipping are a good party-type food. Lots of people love Alissa's mock salmon pate, but I find it too bland for my tastes. I make a spiced up, garlicy sunflower pate that I adore and that always seems to go over well. There are countless pate recipes out there, so if you have one you like, try it on your friends.

Here's a link to an awesome brownie recipe:

When I made this recipe, I doubled it and also made a chocolatey frosting (raw of course) for the tops, which was essential because the brownies themselves weren't very sweet, especially with all the spices. Everyone (all SAD eaters) gobbled them right up.

I'm sure other people will have TONS of suggestions for you -- these are just my tried and true favorites for winning over non-raw folks.

I just remembered that at our last party we made Alissa's cheesey sweet potato chips and veggie crudites and served them with 3 dips from Alissa's book: dill dip, Indian spinach dip, and onion dip. The dill dip was BY FAR everyone's favorite. People were practically licking the bowl! The spinach dip came in second, followed by the onion dip, which was hardly touched. For a few days after the party, all my hubby would make was dill dip over and over...he was so in love with it! :p
