YAY, I finally have a paycheck coming to me that I don't have to give away to strangers and companies that keep demanding I give them money! That means I can FINALLY get my kitchen stocked up on all raw foods and be able to get my goal of 100% raw this week. I'm still in the organisation phase and am trying to get a good workout/meal programme set up, but I'm going grocery shopping tonight and I can't wait!

I'm really excited about doing this not just for myself, but I have even more exciting news!! I finally get to go visit my (very) long distance fiance this coming May!! (It's going to be a looooong trip from Grand Cayman to Wyoming) We haven't seen each other since last Oct. and I was in pretty bad shape then. I didn't recover very well from surgery to rebuild my backbone (the vertebrea were crushed in an accident) and I had gained over 50 pounds, lost all my muscle tone and cardiovascular strength, had a collapsed and then very weakened lung, and was drinking a lot.

But, I've cleaned up my diet dramatically this Jan., started working out at the gym regularly and have discovered this wonderful website and a whole new way to eat healthy! I'm really jacked about this and can't wait for him to see the "new" me.

I'll be starting my 30 day challenge tomorrow morning and by May 1st I'll hopefully be past the worst of any of the detox stages and will be the healthy, vibrant person I know I can be for both myself and my significant other.

You sound like you have had a rough time and so the decision to take positive action is a good one for you. Your detox symtoms may not be that bad - I was surprised how good I felt without feeling bad first. My only dramatic side effect was having to dash to the loo urgently for the first couple of weeks but that settled down.

Good Luck with your first 30 days. You'll get lots of support from the experienced raw food people on this site. (I'm still a beginner.)
