I just finished my tenth day with the slippery elm and lemon juice. It is amazing. I am digesting my food so much better.
My question is, now what?
Do I continue? If so, for how long?
If I stop, do I need to occasionally do it again? If so, how often?
Thanks so much for your help!!

:: tearing up !!!!!!! ::
YAYAYYayayayyaya!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :p You can stop using it......b/c you are suseptible to irritation due to your conditions like myself, you will [feel] digestively when you're stomach is getting irritated. the elm also works at pulling toxins from the bloodstream so keep in mind that making sure you eat clean raw foods will get those dirty guys out. It may also include feeling a little discomfrot off and on.............but keep going b/c YOU ARE DOING GREAT!!!!!! I was so concerned you were going to give up and not fight your battle that YOU ARE WINNING ;)
oh yeah, now that you are getting a healthier lining, let's rebuild your flor--good bacteria in stomach.......do you use probiotic of some sort? The fibers from fruits and veggies keep the terrain healthy for these good bacteria guys!!!!!!! I don'tknow about you but as I have been rebuilding, I had a hard time digesting cellulose the fiberous roughabe in lettuce, celery etc. so I included avacado that contains cellulase tho help breakdown the roughage. Now that I am balanced to a much larger degree, these foods don't just sit there in my stomach.........
Don't have to drink the lemon water every morning if you don't want.....in my opinion prong drinking elmon juice is not good.
Eat well ,water, breathe, rest and exercise (not intensity but for blood flow).
jumping joy for you,
ml :)

Hey Mommamis,
the elm and lemon water are totally seperate.
I used elm water to repair the lining in my gut. I was running in cirlces with my condition and felt like my body was not abosrbing enugh or at all the nutrietns I was taking in...........fsat forward
came across Edgar Caryce site and read about elm water
1 pinch of slippery elm powder in 80z of warm water taken first thing in the mornning. I arbitrarily chose 10 days since its said that the lining takes about 10 days to heal. Depending on person of course too.
It also pulls toxins from the intenstinal walls, lubricates and heals the lining. I have also came across another site that it scrubs the dead cells of candida....
All in all, my condtion has become so toxic and intricate that I needed to do something to make my raw work for me.....
Considering our pst SAD,pollution stress etc, lining is suseptible to damage quite frequently on many levels.

I'm only on day 2 of elm water and I really think it's helping! :)
I couldn't find it in powder form so I've been opening 2 capsules and stirring the contents into warm water each morning. "Dr Lindy," do you think this is ok or should I keep looking for powder?

Rawyogini, you only need a good pinch of it  I don't see why not....I'm not sure how the tablets differ from powder in terms of processing but if the box reads: 100% silppery elm, I'd say crush it and use it. :)
LOL......I don't want EVERYONE thinking this is somekind of majic potion :p I just happen to use it and it worked and offer it as a suggestion...just thought I'd mention it. ;)

Thanks Linda,
It is amazing. I still need to try apples. They are one food that I have always loved but struggled to digest. I haven't had them for months so I need to give it a try.
I also stopped exercising last week (as per your suggestion) and am trying to catch up on my missed rest/sleep. It has been very good for me all around. I have even lost the weight that I had gained after going raw. I am now back to where I started. YAY
Thanks so much!!

Hey Faith babe!
I hope I didn't misword it. It was exerting yourself that was a concern. you can still bounce, brisk walk and lightly jog for blood flow or yoga i think you do too if i remember.
the most important part of digestion.......CHEW VERY WELL. It also doesn't hurt to observe how you react to each food. So yeah, one bite at a time :)
Let the games begin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Enjoy the pleasures of RAW healing,
ml ;)

This slippery elm thing sounds interesting. How do you know if you might benefit from it?

Hey Julesmoz!!!!!!
LOL. good question....chances are with a heavily intoxicated world, stress and poor diets for years and detoxifying, the intestnal wall gets irritated or damaged just like when we teeter totter back and forth with raw or juice fast and then binge.........fast agina........binge etc.
It really is friendly and soothing. Calming and nonabrasive.
Digestively, can only be helpful. I've never encounterd side effects the only one I came across in research, is skin rash. :)

And one last question that my husband just had, altho, I think you answered it in the last post...."How is that different from the cleanse that, you know, get's all that colon mucous out?" From what it sounds like this is a bit more of a gentle cleanse instead of a blow out. :p Am I right?

OH ,this is not a clease Mommamia
I'm sorry if my wording lead you to think.
the whole purpose of elm water isto repair the gut lining which is responsible for aborbing nutrietns and water--otherwise the oppsite effect and good bacteria suffers plus toxin leak into bloodstream.
I suppose if anything, it can aid in the cleansing process---does that answer more clearly? :)
