The almond ice cream was melt-in-your-mouth-make-you-eat-it-so-fast-you-get-brain-freeze-good! Funnily enough it tasted sorta like Rice Dream! And the crackers were soo yummy with a little spicey kick :) (PS, congrats on getting a dehydrator!! :D)

I have to agree that Cafe Gratitude is awesome. After eating there, I tend to head to Rainbow Grocery Store (about 6 blocks away). They have a beautiful selection of organically grown produce, freshly prepared foods (by Queserawseraw) and also a decent selection of dried raw foods.
Anyway, so far everything but the brownies at Cafe Gratitude I have thoroughly enjoyed. Even my 3 kids love to go there.
Blessings.

Cafe Gratitude is one of my top two favorite raw restaurants.
Not just for the food, but also for the ambience that's been created there. Even saying the names of the selections to the server is a positive affirmation. The communal tables encourage friendliness. It's just so wonderful.
I'll be in the Bay Area later this month, and I'll definitely be stopping into either the original or the new one in Berkeley.
I'm so glad you had a chance to experience it. :)

big time droolage going on over here!!!! i'm so jealous of everyone that has a raw resturant. sigh. what's wrong with ohio???? maybe i should open my own place? that would be great. i could only make salmon pate, date nut torte and banana ice and almost tuna and maybe some crackers. hmm...that's a start, right? haha.
oh, and congrats on the anniversary!

I am jealous too! No raw restaurants in michigan, much less the midwest. Makes me want to open one, ASAP!!! It would be packed-people are SO ready for healthy food, even out here in the "blue collar" midwest...

Yup... no raw restaurants in my neck of the woods either... And where would that be? You didn't fill out that info on your profile so it doesn't show on your posts.
Matter of fact, most of the people posting in this thread don't show their location. What's up with that? Afraid Ronald McDonald is going to track you down and force you to eat McNuggets?
I wish y'all would fill in your profiles, because it helps me relate to you as real people.

I'll check my profile...I thougtht I filled it out. If not, I'm in Thomasville (get it "tville" mom) North Carolina....and NO RAW RESTAURANTS HERE EITHER  I keep praying....I would eat there at least once a week!! Wouldn't that keep a business going ;) Oh well...maybe one day. At least there is a couple nice HFS within 30 miles. OH and bytheway...the food looks delish! I want to make those crackers! The nachos looked YUMMMMMMY!

Shivananda... hehehe... In in South Western Ontario, Canada. NOT a raw friendly area hehehe.
from the newly opened Cafe Gratitude in Berkeley CA. I feel so blessed. I love it there. I go there at least once a week. The managers and waitstaff know me by name! My husband and I were just there last night. We had the pecan pie and strawbery cheesecake, the ceasar salad, and the "I Am Beautiful" orange/creamsicle smoothie. Oh so yummy! Sorry no pics. Maybe next week...

Cafe Gratitude is awesome - which one did you go to? I wient to the one on Harrison and then someone on this forum mentioned the one on 9th and Irving so my husband took me there for my b-day. Both are wonderful but on a nice day try the one on Irving - there is a fabulous garden with tables in the back and it's just beautiful.

Wow! Awesome and inspiring. No restaurants like that where I live, either -- which, just for you, Shivananda, is on the South coast of England -- but I get to London a lot, and don't know of anywhere like that there, either. I wish...

I'm so envious! I just returned from Santa Cruz...we spent a day in San Fran and I really wanted to go to Cafe Gratitude but my other friends wanted to eat in Ghirardelli Square. Sad Face for me.

Ok I see I'm not the only one in Michigan, so the lot of us need to get together and open a raw restaurant lol
And Shiv...as you can see now, I'm in Michigan. I saw that you're from Lynn! I lived there for a very very short time in 2001. Haven't been back since, unfortunately. I miss it a lot.
Congrats on the anniversary, Jennah!
