Pine nuts are SOOO expensive right now. Any subsitutes for them?
Macedamia nuts hurt my stomach. Any subsitutes for them?
I haven't been able to find a raw source (that's not too expensive) of cashews. Any subsitutes for them?
I'm ok with all other nuts/seeds.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions,
Lisa

I have not even found pine nuts where I'm at! And the last pound of Macedamia nuts cost me $9.00 a pound. I've been using walnuts and almonds - they've been working pretty good so far.

Yes I mentioned walnuts and almonds and you can use cashews - also try and find pistachios :)

I would also try Brazil nuts they seem to work well too. Hope this helps. Blessings. Karen

I always use raw cashews...they are about $7/lb, alot cheaper than $16/lb for macs...I've never even bought those because of the expense! Good luck. I think you can use any nut you want, the recipe may turn out differently, but make it your own, you may come up with something different but equally as yummy!
