View Full Version : Blendtec vs. K Tec Blenders
You all helped me buy my food processor. Thanks.
Now, can you tell me the difference b/w the Blendtec and the K Tec? Which works better for the $$$.
Shiv prefers them over the Vitamix, so it got me searching.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Nini,
FWIW, I've got the K-tec Champ HP3 blender and it works great for me. I compared it to the vitamix and the K-tec seemed the best choice for me.
Since then, I believe the Champ HP3 has been renamed to the "total blender" model name. Here's where I bought mine (if I recall correctly) -->

I just looked and Alissa only sells the Vita-mix. They're both priced closely. However, I liked the carafe, the computer pushbuttons, and 8-year warranty (vs 5 with vitamix) of the K-tec. And, I actually liked the K-tek carafe better too.
Sorry, I have no knowledge of the blendtec blenders.

I have the K-tec as well. I'm happy with it except for one thing:
The Vitamix will grind things finely even without any liquid whereas the K-Tec you have to add liquid up to the level of the blades at least to blend anything - major drawback.

The K-Tec and the Blend Tec are the same blender. If you wish to compare, I'd recommend comparing K-Tec w/ Vita-Mix. There are LOTS of threads here doing that.
K-Tec use to make a Champ which is slightly different. It's been discontinued although I'm sure some are still available somewhere.

My Vita mix had a 7 year warrantee, and even at 10 years, they replaced my carafe for only $23 which included shipping and all,
but if you like the Ktec, then it will probably suit you fine, I think it is easier to scoop stuff out of as the sides are flat, instead of indented like the VM but I like my VM, it is my favorite machine in the kitchen

I have a 4 month old vitamix, and just bought a BlendTec (sameas K-Tek0. it's still in the box, so I have not comparison, but I like the idea of the wider blade and jar. It's really difficult to scrape out the last few tablespoons of procudt out of the bottom of the VM.
BTW, I bought the BlendTec for a business venture, not just so I could have to amazing blenders !!
