There is a lot of debate on this, so it all depends on who you choose to believe.

Many of us enjoy raw portobellos a lot and find them a versatile ingredient for their meaty savor and their B12 content. And I follow the Japanese thinking on this, that shitake mushrooms are a very powerful healing agent.
