I don't know where to start. I'm having a hard time adjusting to the MC...I'm good through out the day..but after 5pm I start getting enormous cravings for food.
So lastnight I tried one of the green smoothies I found here, and that helped alot with my craving for cooked food.
But my question is, what would be the best way to go if I am trying to lose weight, ie do a cleanse first, transition to raw first "ummph"? Other than my overall health...losing weight is majorly important.
Thanks

Hi onelive2live,
I started my raw journey with the mc first. I weighed 255 lbs. and lost 25 lbs on the mc. Loved food from its smell to its taste. I knew I had a serious problem with how I related to food. I had also done a mc before and remember how I enjoyed the taste and how it satisfied my cravings for food. I was able to stay on it for my goal of 15 days and then I transitioned myself to raw with fruit and then introduced vegatables. This worked for me. I have been completely raw for 4 months now.
If you decide to do this my suggestion is to make sure you are getting no less than 75 oz. @ 9 cup of mc. You also have to make sure you are drinking plenty water in between. Try to set up a drinking schedule for each day so that you are not caught too many times somewhere where a bathroom is not so excessable. ;)
Don't beat yourself up if you find you are not able to do this. Cause to be honest the whole time I was on the mc I drove myself nuts (good word) reading all the recipes in Alissa's book! I could hardly wait to get uncooking! So if you decide to start eating completely raw from this point on. Its ok and you will be right on track.
Hang in there! You can do it!

Tombi, thanks so much for your inspirational words. I am often pretty guilty of beating myself up most of the time. I too, still think the MC is the way to go to get a jump start...but it's just hard getting past enormous cravings w/o giving in..so I'm always starting over the following day...hehehehe!
I may just stick to the "Simple Recipes" thread and work my way up to an extended MC....I figure as long as I keep it uncooked I'll be ok.
This site is the BOMB!!

Okay so you are gonna go for it! I found that the juice it's self kept the cravings at bay. Are you using maple syrup or agave? If so how much? My suggestion being you are just starting is to add as much maple syrup or agave as you want. Make it as sweet as you want. It will still work for you. Also mix limes with the lemon for a different taste. Hope that helps.

Hey Tombi, :D
well I was pretty much going with exactly what the measurements called for. But it's nice to know I can be a little generous.
at what hour should I stop drinking the lemonade, especially since I have major cravings after a certain hour??
Thanks
Tombi

Onelife2live just like with anything when it comes to raw you will eventually figure out what is right for you. Whatever you feel comfortable about doing will work the best for you. I personally stop drinking the MC by 6 or 7 and try to stop all drinking by 8 so I won't be wearing a hole in the floor running to bathroom all night! :D
