I thought when you used to post a quote that you would push the quote button and something would pop up where you would type in the quote and it would show up. Now when I push the quote button the word quote just pops up. I have tried putting the quote in between two [quote] 's and it does not work. What am I doing wrong?!?!

honeybee joy,

I just tried it too in several threads, and I get the large window with all the person's post betwiin [quote[ and [quote] too, have you changed or updated your browser? or internet connetction? this might do it, also any pop up blockers, I am no computer expert by any means, but I've never used the quote feature before, I just tried it and it seems to work on my computer,

I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help to you.

No, how it works is that if you want to quote a message in your reply to that message, like I did above, you click on QUOTE instead of REPLY,and the entire message comes up on your screen something like the following (except that I have replaced the square brackets with parens so you can actually see it):

(QUOTE=honeybee joy) I thought when you used to post a quote that you would push the quote button and something would pop up where you would type in the quote and it would show up. Blah, blah, blah, blah...(/QUOTE)

Those little blocks of text between the brackets, at the beginning and end, are computer code that tells the system to format it as a quote when it is posted. DON'T CHANGE THOSE CODE BLOCKS, if you want it to show up in that format.

But DO highlight and cut everything from the original message except the part you want to reference, so the reader doesn't have to wade through a bunch of irrelevant stuff. That's just polite cyberetiquette. Here's the finished example:

(QUOTE=honeybee joy) Blah, blah, blah, blah...(/QUOTE) :)

OR

The other approach is, you can HIGHLIGHT and COPY selected text from the original message, click REPLY, then PASTE the excerpt into your reply

[QUOTE]

Well that is what I got after pushing it several times. I did change the internet explorer to to the new version. Maybe this is it. I am going to have to clean out my computer this week. It is filled with viruses. If I am still having problems I will get back on here and try and figure it out.
