Has anyone tried the Calorie Restriction diet. Been following it for a month now and lost 20lbs and blood pressure, glucose levels etc. have dropped dramatically. Unfortunately, there isn't a forum as good as this one for the diet.

I am not ready for this yet but I think that it may be a natural progression for me in a couple of years time. It is supposed to be the only one that noticably extends your life expectancy.
I am going to study it and take my time getting there but expect that I will get there.

What type of calorie restriction are you on? Are you eating 100% raw? Do you exercise?
I just recently lost a pregnancy at 18 weeks and I have 25 pounds to lose. Just started the raw diet 7 days ago. Really don't know what to expect. I want to rid myself of all the medication while taking during the loss and I want to feel better. I also want to lose the weight.
Didn't know you were suppose to restrict calories.

I think that the Calorie Restricted Diet should be a lifestyle choice rather than a diet to loose weight. It changes your metabolism over time so short term use would not be advised.

Again this is an example of how the scientific community take the experience of early pioneers like Paul C. Bragg rename the process, do a little "research" to make a lot of money off people who don't know history. If you follow a living food life style eating mostly raw fruit/veg./ few seed and nuts you will naturally have a low calorie diet, without counting!
If you read the health movement pioneers most suggest to have periods of resting the digestive system and cleaning yourself out to prolong life. The medical community called them weird and some physician still do. Anyway go follow the PhDs. and MD that can show you research but if you want the whole picture;go search for truth by studying history to get a full understanding of what you are doing. The living food life style has been the best and sooo easy for me to lose weight while feeling the best I've felt in years. Good Luck on your quest to lose weight. :)

calorie restriction diet..hmmmm...short term to lose weight ? or long term for other reasons ?
I have spent my life of 45 years (ok maybe not from 0 to 14) on calorie restricted diets...and no too stay thin I must stay on it. I have the metabolism of a snail due to it. I maintain my weight of 127 with minimal calories, I eat all day what some have by noon.
So to lose I now need to run, exercise, run run and run more and eat about 800 cals a day for months to lose weight.
Am i a fan of calorie restriction long term NO ! unless you are prepared for ..see above !!!
short term it will do the trick to lose weight.
