I have been easing into raw the last few weeks, attempting 100% for the last 4 days, but I just totally binged. It was all raw, but I feel like such a pig! And my stomch hurts- I ate an entire bag of raisins, 1 cup raw oats and 1 cup raw oatbran with agave nectar and 3 Lara bars! I have been eating so well- mainly mono fruit during the days and a huge salad at night. Then I went to the organic store with all these new yummy treats and just stuffed myself... I feel like a total failure and like I've probobally gained back all the weight that has been falling off of me...

Relax. We've all done it! Don't punish yourself unnecessarily. Enjoy the journey.

All the best,
Gosia.

Ditto to what Gosia just said. I've been struggling as with my cleanse which I've been doing in preparation for the transition into raw. The other day, I broke down at the health food store and in addition to buying the lemons (the only thing I was supposed to buy), I sampled some dried cherries and that was it, I bought a bag and the rest is history. I felt really bad about it but then, I thought - it is what it is and this one act does not change or alter who I am, or my purpose and worth. It really is a journey like Gosia said. Take care :)

Rawbin I have done it too! The bright side is this can motivate you to excercise! Even going for a nice walk will help! Plus it was all healthy anyway!

Awesome idea! Usually when I binge like that, I do not work out because I am so bloated and feel gross... right now I'm not bloated, just a bit too full. Has this happened to anyone else? Is it because the foods were raw? Well, I'm off to power yoga since I'm not too uncomfortable. Thanks everyone!

Rawbin, I binged on RAW goodies and wanted to tie myself up and throw me into "never never land" ;) I know that feeling of wanting to avoid the world when you're bloated etc..............

Are you soaking your raisins? oats? nuts? Do you have Alissa's book?

Don't even sweat it! Sometimes we feel like eating a little more than we usually do. I find that during my cycle I tend to eat a lot of food. I still have cravings for sweets but I make the right choices in what I eat. I have experienced that "bloated" feeling when I eat too many nuts. When I have a sweet tooth I grab some fruit or even make a smoothie with Really Raw Honey. Then I go and do something so I don't think about eating again. We've all experienced the "I have nothing to do but eat" syndrome. The food my be filling a different need than just hunger.
Listen to your body and it will be good to you. :)

This is seriously no big deal. It is all raw, all healthy and if you do gain it probably won't be very much. You are new to raw and the first few weeks of 100% I have and have heard of many people who are ravenous. Eventually your appetite tapers down. This is seriously what it seems most people do especially in the beginning and every so often. As long as it is healthy, it is no big deal. In fact there is probably not really anything wrong with it.

I've been binging on RAw foods alot! I tell myself I can as long as I dont eat sad. No matter how bloated or full I feal it doesn't compare to how bloated or overstuffed I'd feel if I had eatin all that as sad food. I love larabars too when I discovered them the first time I ate two of them right away! I normally eat way over a good days serving of nuts and raisins. i love them!

Chrissy:
I'm new (today) to this site and just starting a vegan diet (the Halleluah Diet), hoping to go all raw some day. I'm looking for a low calorie, low fat salad dressing. I've been on a 75/25% raw/cooked plan for a couple months and haven't lost one pound. I've was eating lots of nuts, seeds, and dried fruits and heavy salad dressings to help satisfy all the cravings I'm having for all the SAD foods (including wine) that I used to eat. I don't want to buy a commercial fat free dressing with all the toxic ingredients. I want to eat healthy and follow what Alissa Cohen teaches in her latest DVDs. I'm concerned about all the fat and calories in the nuts, seeds, avocados and oils in most of the raw food books I read. Any suggestions to a newcomer like me?
