I am so depressed, digusted and just frustrated.

I was doing so well. I was enjoying my raw experience, and looked forward to swapping out my SAD dressings for raw ones. In one night, all of my efforts have been wiped completely out of the window.

I got a really bad case of the stomach flu, from my son. I now have an aversion to all of my favorite vegetables. So, I tried to go with a fast today, clean out my toxins and start a new.

I cannot seem to get either raw OR fasting right.

On a bright note, I just started doing power-walks last week and today I even incorporated a little running.

I'm just so frustrated; I could scream :o

One night does not wipe out all of the wonderful nutrients, enzymes, phytochemicals you have been feeding your body.

It's not all or nothing. It's about progress and continuing to make more good decisions than not-so-good decisions. Progress not perfection right?

Ah yes I know what you mean, I too have had set backs and frustrations. I think we all have. I was going to Juice Fast three days this week and it is Wed...and I have not yet ! Everyday I say Ok today..but alas a salad calls my name.

You should not be so hard on yourself. These things happen and as previously mentioned all the good was not negated in a day or two.

So trudge on !!!

Dang, I hate that too...just when you're in the swing of things, "when it rains, it pours."

I'm sorry you are thrown off the course WEbby!!!! It sucks........BUT what do you mean by ~~~> "I cannot seem to get raw OR fasting right"

I don't hear you saying you DOVE right into a heaping plate of lasagna or 5 beers!?!?!?!? What happened........can we get the juice on it? ;)

Seriously though, how are you doing with the stomach flu?

Notice how I conveniently omitted my guilty pleasures LOL

Actually, I had a fight with turkey sausage and the sausage won :(
Then in defeat I had some other non-raw junk...it's just a domino effect.

As far as the stomach flu, I'm doing better, but I'm rarely ill. This year, I have been hit with just about every cold, and ailment going around. I suppose this is because I have a toddler, who is exposed to everything under the sun.

But, I'm feeling better. Thank you :)

Well, the flu is a form of detox, so be excited about that, even though it isn't alot of fun, it is cleansing.

and please know that no one is perfect, no one started raw, and stayed 100% without at least one setback, and many people have had many setbacks.

so, you have company, and tomorrow is another day, to get up and eat raw, and then do it again, and again and keep doing it.

YOU CAN DO THIS!!

From experience, I've had nasty flus every winter for three years. I am not raw though I want to be, ergo flus every winter.

If your body doesn't want food, leave it be. You will want it again, when you are healthy. Drink loads of fruits and vegetable juices, and water and yup, an enema ( garlic enemas kill bacteria, coffee enemas detox the bowel ) helps amazingly well.

Also rest, rest, rest.

If you can get some echinacea, make tea and drink. Drink ginger tea as well, it helps with the mucus. And also eat loads of pineapple ( for the xeronine).

I got over the worst flu I've ever had by drinking noni juice (xeronine again) as if there were no tomorrow.

Just my two cents.

Carla.

Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, FORGIVE yourself, and move on. It is a new day, a new meal, a new piece of food in your mouth. Anything can be a fresh new start if you forgive yourself. Allow yourself to move on, progress not perfection! I know that's my motto!

Ya know, I was so inspired that today I quit my pity-party, put my rascal in the stroller and hit the pavement. I walked/ran for close to 2 hours and feel GREAT!

I am going to have to pay close attention to the evenings, as that's when I tend to fall off of the wagon.

I'd love to join the spring cleaning bonanza! Please, point me towards the correct link/thread. I think that I overlooked it somewhere.

I actually don't mind having the flu, but it's so darned hard when hubby works out of town during the week and the little one is dependent upon me for everything :P

However, I'm feeling brand new and pray that this excitement carries me onto the next phase :D

PS:

Thank you all for your words of encouragement and allowing me to vent. I know that my body wants to be raw and I know that raw is what my body needs, so I've dusted off the dirt and I'm ready to start over. Yippee!

The same thing happened to me. I was back on 99%-100% raw for almost two days, then last night I failed BAD! Not only was it cooked vegan food, but it was dairy! I had been having a fight with dairy, but you know what, I think last night something really clicked for me while I was having that dairy. In my mind i think i finally understood why It was sooo bad. The possibility of Mad Cow, hormones and tons of other stuff. I was actually kinda grossed out by it. And YES I was really disapointed, because I finally got back on the wagon for almost two days , then fell off. I did also realize some reasons on why I was falling off and now I can work on those things so that i will better be able to handle it when It comes up again. This is a raw food JOURNEY. Journeys do not happen over night. The happen in a course of a lifetime. I still say it I love raw foods, because I am learning more about myself now, then I never did. You will get there. Just be happy with the success and try to figure out why you fell. Anyways, Good Luck to you on your raw journey.
