I've heard many different things: all fruit is best, less fruit, half and half, ect. I feel the best for my body on all fruit. Thing is, I'm gaining weight like mad on it so I'm afraid to do all fruit. Any suggestions? If I eat more veggies will my weight even out again? I don't mean this to sound all about weight, because it's not. It's about mentality and health overall. I know every body is different, but I guess I havn't found my balance then have i? Has anyone else been in this situation?

don't worry how it sounds, few people want to gain weight. :)
what are you eating in a typical day? how long have you been raw? how much weight have you gained in that time?

Hey you,
If I remember correctly, you had a hard time staying raw not too long ago? and prior eating issues? How long have you been consistently raw this time around?
Yes, a run down what you have been eating and activity?
I know what you mean about TMI.....but truly eat what *feels* and satisifes your hungernot what intellectually seems right.

HOW do you gain weight on raw fruit??
If I rem correctly, Alissa made a thread on this issue. If you are NOT eating 100% raw you will gain weight, esp eating avas & nuts/seeds.
I appear to be a newbie but I've lost 130 pounds & in Aug, it will be a year for me.
Apparently SOME ppl (very few- but we're all diff) can manage to gain.
Please fill us in on your typical day? Maybe someone can pinpoint the culprits.
Am I wrong in saying you may have an allergy?

Well, I've been raw off and on for a few years (consuming steamed veggies, brown rice, and white fish if I ate cooked). For the past two weeks I've been 100% raw though. I know if I eat dried fruits, avocados, and bananas I gain quickly. I've cut thouse out (i react poorly to them since i'm sensative anyway) and I can't have nuts or seeds. I'm just eating a lot of water filled fruits and salad vegetables now. I was doing broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots, but they made me tired and "blah." I do have MANY food sensativities/allergies so it's frustrating to think there may be another culprit. Maybe I'm gaining while I detox and then I'll loose? It's just annoying. I know I'll stay 100% raw and won't deviate, but I don't know what my intake should consist of now. Maybe my body's screaming for a fast to detox more? I don't know.

My own personal observation from being here, it is not uncommon for your body to shift and do weird things like "gain" weight of feel puffy and muddy as it's making intricate changes. The body can work in defense mode as it recognized what it wants and hasn't had for awhile......plus your history of raw on and off plays a huge factor too. You're right, it will come off and it is annoying---been there and I gave in rather than tought it out like you! ;) Besides, frist couple of weeks is fairly still new...... :)
Most definately stay away from foods that you know are genuinely your allergy foods and keep in mind that some foods may come across as an irritant buy may be [cleansing] you --ya know what i mean?
Alot of folks are incorporating geen smoothies that way they can have best of both worlds. The greens are great for cleansing, rejuvenating and rebuilding. If you feel discourage from nuts etc....no problem in eliminating it for now and slowly add them back in as you feel your body adapting.
How is activity level? anytime you can give yourself increased blood flow, is detoxification also. Fasting is not always the best form of detox.....too many people [think] that's the answer for detoxifying and it simply isn't true. There are way too many benefits to the whole food...it's meat and fiber does alot more than assist the colon.
Give yourself the pleasure of improving and changing.....two weeks is quite an accomplishment given your history.
You're doing awesome what else are you experiencing?
:)

Thanks for your input. "two weeks is quite an accomplishment givne your history." Actually, I was raw for 6 months strait so 2 weeks is nothing, but I guess I shoudln't compare myself to THEn and just think about NOW right? I just found a recipe for green smoothies without the use of bananas so I will try doing that and see where it gets me. As for the nuts, seeds, and grains I know I can't incorporate them because I'm allergic to them, not just sensative.
Activity level is pretty low since mentally I've been low also (which i'm surprised since raw used to give me that "high" when I did it) so it's hard getting active. I'm going to push myself though. I know it's a way to get the blood flowing and eliminate toxins, it's just DOING it that's teh problem haha.

Sure, I'll be happy to join. Has it already started? In between those months and now I was raw no longer than 2 weeks at a time. Three of those months strait I was basically 75% cooked, but then it became 75% cooked for a day then raw for a week and it repeated itself. I've been 2 weeks so far and have no dsire for cooked though, so that's good. My menu is getting boring though since it's so restrictive.

Hey you!
Sure thing woman......please come down to the thread in PHOTO & JOurnaling discussion and there is a thread called "Spring Challenge' It stated March 1st but no biggie.......cruise in anytime!
Paul Nison talke about the raw yo yo syndrome and it's effect. The body becomes even more stubborn or "damaged" per se.
Seems naturally when we gain weight, the first thing we want to do is "restrict" and with your food allergies, it's frustrating b/c I bet you want to feel FREE to eat a variety of foods yet you cannot.
Well let's get down to business and get you on the path of healing and LOSING WEIGH (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) :)
New Beginning,
