Has anyone had this symptom?, when I eat a few dates or nuts I get like this I get a pain in the middle of my chest, it's not like heartburn but it is if you know what I mean, it's hard to explain. I will also sometimes feel like something heavy is on my chest never had asthma but may be similar feeling to that? These symtoms can come at the same time or on their own it's really weird any ideas?.Isn't it interesting what other symptoms raw brings out that we never payed attention to before going raw certainly makes you listen to your body. Thanks as always for your support and advice.

Are you soaking the nuts before you eat them. It is odd that it happens with dates also. I have not heard of anyone having a reaction to dates.

That's interesting Karen. I've had similar symptoms and not thought to link it to dates or nuts (although I eat both). I'll watch more closely and also hope to hear from others on this.

Not to be alarmist, but you don't have any other symptoms that would suggest heart problems, do you? No answer needed, just making sure you're considering all the possibiltiies, no matter how (hopefully) remote.

Best,
Rawmney

Hi Rawmney, thanks for your response well glad to hear at least someone else has had similar symptoms, as far as heart issues go no I have never had any I used to get palpatations and that was the extent of heart issues for me but as I am healing these have subsided quite a bit only get them every once in a while now if at all. Thanks for your input it is always really appreciated.

I had a couple of symptoms like this that lasted just a few seconds, to a few minutes, then a few hours, then one time it lasted 2 days, it ended up being my gallbladder.

At first, it felt like I was bloated in my stomache, and needed to belch, so I would drink soda pop, and it would go away, so I thought that this was it, it happened a couple of times, then it happened again, but lasted longer, I didn't have soda pop in the house, (the first two times it happened, I was in the car) so I just suffered through it, it got worse and worse and worse, felt like a metal band around my rib cage, getting tighter and tighter, nothing releived the symptoms, the pain, I couldn't sleep, or lay down, or sit up, or walk, everything I did made it worse, until it finally ended on it's own,
this happened a few more times, each time the pain was worse, and more intense, and lasted longer.

so, I didn't know what it was, but I wanted to know.

I started googling the symptoms to see if I could figure out what it was, and to the best of my knowledge, it was gallbladder.

specifically gallstones, passing or trying to pass.

well, I looked up gallbladder cleansing, and decided NOT to do that, but I do know that
1. if I eat too much oil or fats, it causes me excruciating pain
2. if I eat fruits and fruit juices, the pain goes away, specifically lime or lemon

so, you KNOW I don't eat oils or oily foods, and I really limit my nut intake now, and I eat alot of limeaid and lemonaid

hopefully this will clear up with raw, and I will be able to eat whatever I want, and not have to limit my oil intake, although it's probably not a bad thing.

So, although I hope it isn't what it is for you, it might be.

I hope it isn't

Thanks rawpriestess, I hope it's not gallbladder either. I limit my fat intake tooand then on the odd occasions I have some. I just don't think my body is able to handle this right now just has a hard time digesting them. I will certainly keep an eye on these symptoms though.

I've experienced a similar thing... usually after I eat mangos or a lot of apples for some reason. Usually after I have a BM it totally passes. Not sure if my symptom is similar to yours, but it could just be your body getting ready to eliminate. ??

I dunno if this is the same thing but mine has improved but this is what I have that *seems* similar.

As soon as I would eat nuts or food usually in cocnetrated form like dehydrated or dried or multiple ingredients, ,,,,,,

I would get a stuffy feeling in my chest.......it was almost across between astmatic *feeling* I don't have asthma though and right under my ribs the lefts side bothered me.

do you tend to have a cough issue or bowel issues Karen?

Hi misslinda & Sunshine, Yes it is almost like an asthmatic feeling, horrible sensation really and I have never had asthma. I did have a few bowel issues constipation but getting better since being raw. But no coughing. Thanks for the input guys always nice to hear from others with similar symptoms to see that it will too pass with time.

Karen,,,,,,,,LOL...I really think we are alot alike. I found out mine was a combination of things........bowels take a huge part in it. It's possible to have "acid reflux" without the usual symptoms the silent type is what I have........my uper stomach duodenum (sp) didn't function effectively....my stomach acids were not effective with the autoimmune, dampness and lack of bowels going on.

The minute food enters my mouth my salivary glands react and I can tell if that symptom is going to happen. To a degree it [can] manifest into asthma b/c spleen/lungs taking the liquids that are vaporized can alter when the digestive system is underfucntioing--even more so since you have Candida--dampness. I only say this b/c we both have tcm doctors.

btw, you only talk to your doc over the phone? what about being able to see your skin, tongue and test your pulse?

:)

Hi misslinda that is funny :D , yes seems we do have a few of the same things going on, I'm so glad though to know I am not alone in all of this. It's very interesting to hear a different perspective on these things especially TCM. As far as my Dr goes yes we do telephone consultations, she in in Los Angeles CA and I am in MN she treats people in the UK and canada and all over the US she mainly deals with the IC but most IC patients have other health issues too. She has been very successful in what she does and caters to each person on an individual basis as far as herbs ect go she adds in herbs and takes herbs out as your body goes through different stages . She goes by your symptoms and takes everything into account that way. In the beginning you send her pictures of your tongue ect so she has more of an idea of what is going on. She is having to work with my bladder again at the moment as that has flared up again but I am wondering if thats my fault as I have cheated a bit on the diet that she recommends, I have been eating more fruit than she would like me to be eating. Anyway always a pleasure to hear from you and your perspective on this raw healing journey. If you want I can add my email address for you to conatact me too as we have so much in common LOL!!!!!. Thanks again as always for all your caring help and time, i know I will have many more questions.
Take care
Karen
