View Full Version : Anyone out there not mix foods or use recipes?

I am going on a 6-week business trip next Tuesday. I will have a small kitchenette but my time and resources to make raw recipes will be severly limited.

For the past 2 weeks or so I have been thinking that I might want to just mainly eat foods just as is, not mixed and eat meals like what I just had for lunch--green beans and a head of cabbage.

Anyone else out there do this? I am thinking I will have more time...but hoping I don't get bored. I LOVE raw fruits and veggies, though, so I don't have to blend them to enjoy them, and I actually am not all that fond of smoothies, so I won't miss them at all...

If you do this, let me know...I would like to hear why you do this and how it goes...how much you eat (more or less), if you feel any different than if you make raw recipes...

I guess my only concern is that I might not get the variety I get when I mix things...

I still mix (smoothies, salads) unless I'm eating grapes, berries, cherries or bananas, etc.. I would like to be able to mono-meal to make things easier as it seems to agree with me more.

Actually the most natural diet is mono-mealing, that is, eating one kind of fruit or vegetable until full and then a different food at the next meal. Variety is what you get when you eat your next meal. The whole mixing and seasoning thing is fairly new - the nomads probably travelled until they found a tree full of fruit to rest under and eat, and likely didn't run from tree to bush to fish pond to make their meals.

This is probably why the act of proper food combining has been so helpful for many folk's digestion.

I do both. I would have no problem going on a trip and eating without mixing. I still make green smoothies and salads but other than that I eat fruit as is. It is so nice. I spend very little time making my food throughout the whole day. Plus there are less dishes to wash.

A knife is handy to have though, for kiwis, mangos etc..

Good thought about the knife...I think I will take mine with me. I am pretty sure I would get very frustrated with whatever I find there in my room...

I had heard about mono-mealing, and now that you mention it...yeah, I seriously doubt our early ancestors were out gathering to make spinach salad with diced apples, carrots, and mango salsa on them... :D

This might be a very nice experiement for me, to see if I feel better. I don't usually have digestive problems, especially raw, but maybe I don't know any better and I will realize that I have been putting up with even a tiny bit of discomfort my whole life!
