Has anyone out there ever made their own raw nut butters? If so how did you do it? Thanks

I tried to make nut butter (almond & walnut) and they didn't come out well. They were dry and my juicer is old and cheap, it didn't grind them up enough. The walnuts were still good ground up with bananas though! :p

The good ole' vita mixer is the only way I know to make awesome nut butters. I have a special container even to make it in oppose to the one I use for making juices, and smoothies.....its well worth every penny I spent on that darn thing!!! I LOVE IT!! smiles!!!!!

em....do you just use pure nuts or do you have to add any oils? I have a K-tec blender so I should be able to do it too.

Thanks,

Thanks emmaann. I'll try my vita-mix. I purchased it 5 years ago but never used it much. I know I'm going to start getting lots of use out of it soon though, when I start eating raw.

Thanks rawmommie. I'm going to give it a try. Alissa nut butter looked so creamy on her viedo. I bought some the other day at our health food and it is very stiff. It tastes ok though.
