I had just about given up on "making" the dc go raw. 2 of the 3 boys openly say things like "I HATE raw foods", "This diet is DUMB!", "As soon as I can I am going to fill a swimming pool with 'sugar cereal' and dive into it and swim and eat it all day!" etc. They say at leat 5 negative things re: raw foods every day. So, I had decided to just give up on them for now, and lead by quiet example. I made chicken and veggies in the crockpot for them last night. Ds#2 said "Mom, please give me only veggies. I have decided to be a vegetarian. I am going to be vegetarian for awhile and then go raw. It's like being a vegetarian is TRAINING to be raw." :D

He even DARED me to make his favorite meat-meal so that he could refuse it and prove that he is commited to this!

Also, lately he will ask what is raw and what isn't and he often chooses to eat just the raw foods and sometimes says "Mom, I want to have an all-raw day today."

Just wanted to share. :)

That is fantastic, doesn't that make you feel proud. I can't wait for the day my 12yr old daughter says that, she has eaten a few raw meals but also has said a few negative things about eating raw but hopefully like you said using quiet example that she will then take that path too.

was just thinking about sugar cereal quote and thought maybe if you take walnuts , almonds , sunseed (use alot cuz cheap) , raisins (again alot cuz cheap) , other dry fruit you like , grind in blender til bb sized bits , serve in bowl to be eaten with spoon with cinnamon sprinkled on and some sweet fruit like banana cut up in it could quench your childrens sweet tooth . you could also make a nut milk to pour on .

Wow that's great ! I wish you lived near me so your 8 yr old ds could be a good influence on my 8yr ds. He too is a self proclaimed vegetarian and almost Vegan, very into organic BUT won't try any raw dishes ( he still doesn't know the chocolate pudding is avocado) and lives on eden organic pasta some cooked organic veggies and pizza.

Good work !

mbf,

I am cracking up at the avocado chocolate pudding!

Forgive me, I am brand new here tonight, and am just learning how to work this board .. wasn't sure how to reply directly TO YOU.

Anyway, if you see this, I'd be interested in the recipe for that pudding.

Thanks in advance! :)
