I've been trying to add more veggies in my diet. and I absolutely love salads. I'm enjoying one right now actually. But I have apple cider vinegar on it. Is it really okay to use it. How is it different than regular vinegar if so?

If you don't want to use a processed product you might want to consider fresh squeezed citrus juice (lemons, limes, oranges, grapefruit, etc.) they taste great and have an acid note to them.

Apple cider vinegar is technically raw, or atleast some brands are.

Vinegar is so varied in quality. The Braggs brand is really good - "Vinager with the Mother" - unfiltered. It's full of enzymes and all kinds of nice friendly bacteria.

Here's the difference... white vinegar is distilled, to make it more neutral tasting and give it longer shelf life. Raw apple cider vinegar is not. But you really need to get it from a health food store to get the live food kind. Supermarket varieties of apple cider vinegar are usually pasteurized to kill the live culture, again, giving it longer shelf life.

Keep it in your refrigerator to keep it fresh longer.

FWIW, I stopped consuming apple cider vinegar after watching a video of Dr. Graham say that vinegar is toxic. I just made a delicious salad dressing tonight made from juice of 1/2 orange shaken with a 1/4 avocado. As Sharon says, this is a tasty alternative.

Fiddler thank you, I was gonna mention that as well but afraid of getting shot down. I believe it's the acetic acid that isn't good for us.

It's kinda like eating certain poisonous plants - and reasoning that there are all kinds of nutrients in them - I don't know. I still use it on occassion, but I think it is important to recognize that it's not a whole food, and something that isn't health-promoting. While it probably isn't going to kill us, perhaps it could be the very thing that holds back the best healing our body can produce.
