I am currently on a water/Juice fast. I am trying to prepare myself so when I transition to eating solid foods again. I would like to eat raw foods for a couple weeks before I try eating cooked foods if possible.

Does anyone have any tips and idea how I can transition into liquid to solid foods safely. What are the best raw foods for my body at this time after a fast?

I have been reading up on all kinds of veggies, that I have found they are all good for you, but I was wondering if someone with fasting expierence could tell me which veggies are the best.

Thank you for your time. :)

I find that juicing on greens is the best way to go. Supplement the greens with celery and cucumber. Maybe add some beet, broccoli, cabbage, lemon, lime, garlic or ginger to the juices. But I usually limit my sugar intake when I juice fast, so that means I lay off the apples but I sometimes add carrots.

When going back on a solid diet again, I guess fruit would be the way to go. Eat alot of fruit the first few days of leaving the liquid diet. Then you should be able to go all the way back to a complete raw diet.

The book on Juice Fasting and Detoxification is great on how to break the fast. It also tells you how many days it take to break your fast. I highly suggest it as I think this wil be the hardest part. Quantity and manner of how you break your fast is also important. Try to get the book and if you can't and you need detail information I can give it to you. You can email me for the info or you can call me. After reading this book and several others and researching............I do worry for anyone who breaks their fast incorrectly! Please do your research. I know you have been fasting alot longer than I have and I want to see you transiton off your fast as safely as possible.
BTW....I'm happy to read how well your fasting journey is going for you. :)

Myself, after a long fast, I find doing juice in tehmorning and then an aplle chewed very well and start out with half.........very slowy as to not shock the body. I would stay away from high glycemicfruits until your body welcomes the foods.

I FP my greens and again, in small quantities........treat your mouth like a baby eating for the first time. SHOCK is one reation that can cause serious effects after elongate fasting. PLEAE BE CARFEUL.

cooked foods? I take it you are not 100% raw.

Hi Misslinda,

I have enjoyed your postings a lot. And your huge spirit makes you one of the most distinctive posters here, in my view. But I have a couple of suggestions to make about your message formatting, in order to make them more "user friendly," at least for me, and perhaps for others.

I'd normally would have sent these suggestions to you privately, but your email access is turned off here (did you know that?) and since there is no more private messaging I seem have no choice but to communicate with you but to make my suggestions publically.

First, I've noticed that you sometimes use square brackets in your messages instead of parentheses. That may seem like a thing of no importance, but it has an unintended result here, which I first noticed in a reply to your message in which I tried to quote you. Since square brackets are used in HTML code to designate commands, and the quote feature utilizes HTML code, any square brackets embedded in your original message can appear to be a computer command and clobber the quote feature from working properly. So I suggest you just (and everyone else) just use normal parens in your posts here.

Second, your signature block is so large it takes up half the screen, so when you post several very short posts in a row, as you often do, I find myself needing to scroll the screen several times just to read a few of your one-liners. I find that annoying after a while. And it's sometimes hard to find your actual post in the midst of all the visual clutter surrounding it. Taking all the blank lines out of your sig block would make your posts much more user friendly, IMHO. And a lot more readable. And since I'm interested to read what you have to say, that's why I'd like to be able to see your message more clearly. :)

Wow. Shiv has an opinion on everything, but this is a little bit much.
Miss Linda is great! She is welome to make her signature as big as the sun!
I don't mind her square brackets, it is her style. We are not in HTML or English class. We are here to support each other in our RAW Lifestyle. Miss Linda is so supportive and helpful!

Hi Sacrista

It's great that you are fasting.

and we all want to help you transition from fasting to eating raw, however this is a raw support board, so we really don't discuss eating cooked foods or transitioning into eating cooked foods, even if that may be where you wish to go.

Liquids, then juicy fruits, then juicy vegetables, then when your body tells you, other raw food preparations, such as those made with soaked nuts and seeds.

Every body is different so I would suggest looking within and seeing what you feel is the right thing to break your fast with. Different experts will recommend different things, so there isn't one solid answer. The common links are go SLOWLY, and introduce foods in simple combinations if not mono. Also beginning by blending, then moving to solids. Focusing on foods with laxative effect will continue the cleansing process which is ideal for maximum benefit of the cleanse. For every day that you fast you should take one day to recover.

I am sorry Raw Priestess about the cooked food bit. I didn't know. :(

I am trying to go 100% after my fast and make it my life style if I can, so I don't know if I will mess up or not.

So far I am just trying to prepare myself for after my fast is done. I have been reading a lot about break a fast, but nothing really tells me which foods might be the best for me and the easiest for me to start with.

Again, thank you everyone for helping me with this information. :)
