I apologize if this topic has been done to death, but I'm not finding what I'm looking for. I want books that talk about the health aspects, the history and the science behind a raw food diet. Not all that interested in recipes as I have a bunch. I'm a researcher and am looking to give myself that final kick to 100% raw. Testimonials work for me too, but I'd really like the science-even if presented in a conversational way. Anyone have favorites they'd be willing to share? I'd appreciate it.

Alissa's book, while it does have recipies, has just as much info and testimonials and is a great book on living pratically on raw foods. I also enjoyed 12 Steps to Raw by.. hmm.. book isn't in the house and I cannot remember, good read though.

I agree with what Jinx says. Both Alissa's book and 12 Steps to Raw have tons of info. I know other really enjoy David Wolfe's books. But, I don't really care that much for them.

Wow, great replies! I had been pushed towards Gabriel Cousens' books before. I also really love what I've read (online) by David Wolfe. I will definitely check out Alissa's book as I like what I'm seeing on this forum. Much thanks. Off to read some more! Anyone else process this way? FOr some reason it's not enough for me to know how I feel doing any particular thing...I need to be able to back it up and allay the fears in my head.

Oh my yes. I have to read, read, and read some more when I find out something new. I love to learn, and learning about something as vital as food, particularly raw food. It's alot of fun!
