Yup. I just soak the seeds 8 hrs until they make a paste and then mix in whatever herbs and lay it out on the dehydrator. Works great. Will find the water/seed ratio if you like.

You can actually make flax crackers with nothing but a bowl and a spoon. Put flax seeds in a bowl, add a little water and stir them up, then let them sit until they "gel up" to the desired consistency, and finally spoon onto a flat surface and let dry. Voila, flax crackers.

From there you can add whatever you like to alter the taste and consistency of the finished crackers. Spiced, herbs, veggies, whatever. It's an amazingly simple and versatile process. I make an Italian style flax cracker simply by adding Italian seasoning. I make a ginger cracker by adding fresh grated ginger. Grate or shred ingredients to add, even chop them finely with a knife if you don't have have a blender or food processor.

And as we've discussed in other threads, you don't even have to have a dehydrator to make them (though a dehydrator definitely gives you faster, more consistent, and higher quality results).

thank you. I tend to crave something crunchy/salty in the latter part of the day!

Alissa's recipe for basic flax crackers (the one with ginger, garlic, and lemon) states that it is only food processed to mix the ingredients together. This definitely can be done without a processor. Like has been mentioned, a bowl and a spoon will get you there!

Let us know how they turn out!
