Pesto Request

Hi! I'm new here and I'm all out of basil. No, I don't want to borrow some. :o I'm wondering if anyone has a good recipe for pesto that uses a different kind of green--like spinach or kale?

I love pestos, and I make mine out of all kinds of greens and all kinds of nuts. I never use a recipe, I just improvise with whatever I have on hand. Walnut & spinach is good, for example, or parsley and pine nut, or hazelnut and arugula, or... well, you get the idea.

I just coarsely chop handfuls of the ingredients I have, usually adding some fresh herbs and garlic, then run in the food processor until it reaches the consistency I want, drizzling in a bit of oil along the way, and occasionally some vinegar or a touch of wine. YUM!

Thank you so much! I blended up spinach, pumpkin seed, pine nuts with a small clove of garlic, a bit of olive oil and some sea salt. I stuffed some baby 'bellas with it and they are smelling good!
