It has been a very intersting last few days. I'm curious if others have experienced this as well. Let me go back in time a bit to set this up, so to speak.

About a year ago I had a major meltdown over food. I was trying to do weight watchers, I had ruined my dinner, and didn't have anything else I could eat that would suit my diet plan. I broke down and when I calmed down I was hungry, but I wasn't. I decided to just call it a day and go to bed before it got worse. The next day I felt detached and no desire to eat, so I didn't. The day after I ate lunch, a small bowl of split pea soup. It tasted wonderful. I learned alot from that time, the biggest being that it is OK to be hungry. I think I could have gone longer without eating, but I was ignoring my body and worried that I was heading towards anorexia. Between my own struggles with food and the stigma of fasting in society I was sure that had to be what was going on.

So fast forward to Wednesday this week. I'm feeling oddly detached and when I go to make dinner it is more hassle than it is worth. Almost to the point where I"m getting emotionally upset at having to make a choice over what to eat. Needless to say with what I've learned on this board and with the switch over to raw a little bell goes off in my head. So I start reading more about fasting, even get a book. I decided last night that I was going to do a water fast. I really want to do a juice one, but my juicer isn't going to be here until the 13th of this month and I don't think my body wanted to wait. I've had very little hunger pains today and everything has felt right.

Now my quandry, water fasting really should be done with little activity and such. I can manage that this weekend, however when Monday comes it is back to work. I hope my body is done fasting by then, I may just end it either way at that time. Either way I'm sure I will get some benefit from it.
