I used to think that this is silly, but our brain is programmed in a very interesting way – it is trained to do what it expects will happen.
If anyone here has any insights about visualization, please post.

i really agree with you on this
i've had hundreds upon hundreds of confirmations over my life that how you convince yourself your body will go, it will go.
ok thats a confusing way to put it, but you know what i mean :p
i also strongly believe in beliefs influencing the outside environment too. i am personally not religious, but am spiritual, and the concept of prayer to me is so strong; i truly believe that focused energy can move mountains!
thanks for bringing this up :) great thread

Agree 100 % ! I practice this. It is the missing link. I even use these in my passwords for various things...I make a brief statement based on a goal. Everytime you type your password you reinforce it !!!

Always use am instead of will. Saying "I have to lose this much by this date" sounds like something you HAVE to do, not something you WANT to do. Avoid this not only in your mission statement, but also in your everyday thinking.Really important -- when you use will in an affirmation, you are making a statement that something will happen in the future. While this initially seems helpful and powerful, it really isn't. The future never comes. There is only the present. Therefore, a will won't make it happen. A will will always keep it in the future. Your affirmations (or visualizations, if you will) must be in the present tense - am.

Thank you so much for the tips--great to be reminded--passive action is lifeless!!!!!!!!!!!

I too experience the power of visualization. When I sit and get really quiet and visualize myself at my goal weight and size, and say it in "I AM" terms, I can actually feel my body shrinking or tingling in response. It is way cool. I haven't done that in awhile, thanks for reminding me!

I agree! :D :D :D Visualization is so important!
I've been using it since I was really little. Someone told me that we have the power to heal ourselves (and that resonated with my intuition as a kid) and so I can't remember a time I got sick and didn't try to heal myself. I've always done this thing with white light where I visualize it coming from above (I've always interpreted this as a divine light) and into my body and towards where I needed it (on myself or someone else). Or sometimes I just fill my body (or someone elses) with light. When I am doing silent prayer in groups I can see this light energy and feel it so strong, it can really be amazing.
Also I learn about my body and imagine it functioning normally.
Recently I've tried visualizing different colors of light and they change colors on me. I have no idea what any of it means, so I have stopped for fear I could actually damage something (until I find a way to learn more, or feel more powerfully intuitive about it).
I credit my larger breast size to visualization (I was a late-bloomer and REALLY wanted it to happen). Now, I'm not as happy about that, but anyway...
I can tell a big difference in my "power" to heal myself with other aspects of my life. Eating raw helps a lot, but so does having a still mind, being free of negative thoughts/energy, etc.
I wholeheartedly believe in visualization, thanks for starting this thread!

Of course, we live in each ~now~ moment...there is no tomorrow, that's why 'tomorrow's diets don't work, 'tomorrow's quitting smoking never works.
I've used NOW affirmations and they've always worked.
Live in the Now.

I write the message on a piece of paper beside my pillow to verbally say and visualize in my head (more for food control rather than weightloss) for about several weeks ......I do notice that I wake up refreshed and not worrying about what to eat and what not to eat etc. Now that I have not done it for a week, I feel the effectsw. I'll go back to doing it again observe. :)

*thinking out loud*
It's interesting but typically we see this as a "tool" or means to see past and beyond........I want to get to the point that this is innate. When I truly thinkn about that, it feels like another dimension---ya know what I mean?

I see no difference in my wildest dreams, and what others call "reality"
I am in complete charge of manifesting my entire life, and I do that each and every milisecond.
Blessings be to thee and all there is!
