Hello, everybody :-) I joined just a few moments ago, but I feel like I know a few of you because I occasionally read postings that my friend has left open on her browser. My initial interest in the raw diet and lifestyle was simply to support my friend's efforts to adopt this style of living -- I'm sure you all can identify with how hard it can be to make such a profound change in the way one lives and that requires such a total break from one's past. (By way of example, there's hardly a restaurant in the Midwest a raw vegan can patronize, so you're suddenly a homebody. When is Kansas gonna catch up with the coasts in this regard, anyway?) At this point, I'm interested in learning more about this for my own sake too. At first, I will probably be posting a lot of dumb questions that have been covered at length by others on here, and as I catch up on reading older posts, I'm sure my comments as well as inquiries will begin sounding a lot more intelligent.

Hi GregKC, and Welcome! You are in a terrific place to learn and grow, as well as find creative ways to support your raw friend. As you continue down this path, I think you will find it extremely addicting and freeing at the same time.
Feel free to post and ask anything - I know I did.
Also, you might want to take a look at the search button (upper right banana navigation link). If you are looking for recipes, or information, you can always type in your subject there and see what all has been posted on that particular topic. There's a great archive of information here - current and past. Make the most of it!
Again, welcome to you and your friend.
Best Wishes on your raw journey,

Welcome to RFT. I am sure you will find this exciting and you will not only feel sooooo much better, you will feel much better knowing that by eating this way, you will not be allowing much of a chance of illness, diseases or cancers to develop. As you navigate more around this website, you will get to know all sorts of people who have overcome a huge diversity of health problems, including myself. I myself have overcome, lifelong depression, constipation, weight problems, compulsive eating habits, food obsessions and all around just feel happier, healthier and livelier.
Hope you have fun clicking around the forum.
