I have two really really stupid questions.
1. Why is Braggs not good for you?
2. Why are GMO foods not good for you.
Thank you. I have read "No GMO" everywhere but I have not seen why it is unhealthy.
Karen :) :)
The answer is in the other two threads. Please read this Info on Braggs Aminos (http://www.livingnutrition.com/fwn/read.php?2,214,216#msg-216). Here are the other threads

Alissa sells Nama Shoyu and many here use it. Alissa only sells products she uses herself.
GMO is a whole catagory by itself. In brief it has never been tested, yet has spread throught the world and is taking over in some areas of agriculture. Here is a little video and website that might help you with it. http://www.krafty.org/flash/ Sorry, can't find the GMO link.

For the best info on GMO (genetically Modified) food, go to the Organic Consumer's website www.organicconsumers.org and look up in the top left hand corner. You will see a link for genetically engineered or genetically modified foods. Read and learn. It's unnerving ...
In fact, read the entire website.

Teri, Alissa also uses Braggs on the DVD and has it listed as an ingredient in recipes in her book. Is this something that she's now saying not to use?
Thanks,
Pam
pjries, that is true. I have the book and DVDs. Hubby and I started using them after reading Alissa’s recipes. The thing is, the book was published and DVDs made before the info became public about how Braggs Aminos are actually made. Alissa did use them at that time. She does have this info and chooses not to sell Braggs Aminos. It is totally up to each person what to do about this knowledge.
No I have not heard her recommend anything else. You could try the Nama Shoyu. Or misslinda posted something she makes. I'll try to find it for you.

it's been pretty recent that all the bad news came out about braggs. before raw when i did a lot of vegan cooking, many vegan cookbooks called for braggs!
i would guess that's why alissa called for it in the book and video but now has changed it to nama shoya. everyone used to think it was healthy! i don't think she'd try to lead us down the wrong path intentionally. :)

So nama shoyu is also GMO, meaning that it has fish or even human cancer cells in it, since all soy is GMO, even organic by polination. But it does not have monosodium glutamate, right?
I read somewhere that you can make spice instead of salt - dehydrated tomatoes and onions powder.I think I am going to try it, although tomatoes are so expensive now...
Do you have any other homemade suggestions -you can not trust even 2 generation health crusader!

instead of braggs or nama shoyu, I make a sauce of my own
I use portobello mushroom and celtic sea salt and some juice, either orange, or red pepper juice, whatever you have on hand.
I just vita mix it all until I like it.
the portobello's make it taste earthy and good, the juice, like red pepper or orange juice makes it taste great, and the salt, just makes it salty, like braggs.
