alissa's chocolate cake-dates instead of figs?

Hi!
I *just* got back from the hf store and I don't want to go back!
I want to make the cake and eck! I have no figs. I do have dates, medjools, and plums, also raisins.
Has anyone had any success with substituting?
How was it?
Has anyone made it with the figs? What did you think?
Any suggestions would be great!

Hi Mangomama,

Yes, you can substitute any of them for figs! I do it all the time. Later on if you decide you would like to try the figs you could.

I would probably go with the raisins and maybe a few dates (make a blend). Just make sure the raisins are blended well!
