Hi Everyone,
The Monkey here.
What is next after raw?
What I mean is this.......I feel great and will continue on but, that "high" I used to get from "being" raw isn't as evident.
Is there something beyond raw?
All the Best,
Carrie Bradshaw....ah, I mean M.B.

What about trying some fasting?
Do you want you high from your food ?? just thinking maybe you could take up a hobby or volunteer?? I know it may sound corny but the more I do good things the "higher" I feel, even if it is once a week??

MEDITATE. being raw makes it so much easier to connect to the Holy Spirit. Talk about getting "high". Besides, I think spiritual awakening is kinda the whole point of being here....

MEDITATE
I agree. Meditation will enhance your rawness, and vice versa.

knowing that you probably won't or will highly decrease your chances of being in the hospital for many many different illnesses, cancers and diseases. Also, you will look younger longer, and feel younger longer. I would find some fun activities or clubs to join suppliment your newfound raw diet.

Monkey Boy, I understand your feeling and experience it from time to time as well. It seems to be similar to exercise in that you reach plateaus and need to change it up a bit to recharge :).
Are you in a food rut? Meaning, do you eat the same daily -- too routine? How about changing it around, try some new foods, try mono-eating meals, etc.
I have found that the "high" at the beginning comes and goes, but it's never quite as high as the first time :) But, I am improving; and I like to think of my contentment as a testiment to having reached a high-level of health and my body is no longer in emergency mode, but is calm and happy.
Best,
um, I assume you've already tried sky diving and mountain climbing? How about Evererst? Now we're talkin' HIGH, baby!

Being a breathetarian (sp?), and when you get tired of that you won't have to wonder what to do next, you'll be so high you'll just float away. Forever Young

Physical excitment - climbing hills, running sprints, entering three legged contests? So many options. Have fun and play with the energy in your new body - you'll love it!!!
Cheers,
Sheryl
PS Just got back from a one hour walk in the woods and a weight workout and LOVED it!!! I was singing it made me so happy!

Hi Everyone,
Thanks all my Monkey friends.
I'm in the process of a raw bodybuilding program.
I thought this new part of my life to focus on would help and it has.
Trust me, I get plenty of exercise.
I've already made it to mono eating. I started that about a year ago. I really like that.
When I went to Central America this past December I felt great.
Maybe I just need to get out of town again.
Any suggestions?
Peace and Thank You,
M.B. (Tom)

The bodybuilding is a good thing.
Have you considered a spiritual quest?

Hi Everyone,
When it comes to a higher spirit I'm into Thich Nhat Hanh.
This guy combines Theravada and Mahayana traditions more Vietnam than Nepal.
Peace in the Middle East,

Hey monkeyboy, everything goes through this cycle of highs and lows, absolutely everything. You, on some level and often many, get used to a state be it your food or physical state, your spiritual or mental state etc.
You get used to running on a vibration that once gave you a high.
These rest periods are granted to us for a reason, though we often struggle against them. You prepare in them to get ready to experience a new, higher vibration. It serves a purpose truly. A pit stop. Or just drink more wine!! ;)
Warmly~

I love Thich Nhat Hanh. His book "Being Peace" is like my bible. His teachings are so sensible and simple, it's refreshing and inspiring. I mean, anyone who enjoys hugging trees as much as I do has got to be cool
:D I would love to visit his center in France someday. Must be bliss.
As far as your search for a new "High", may I suggest going to see some live music? I'm talking really good live music. Music that makes you shake your booty all night long. I go to see live shows at least 1-2 times a week, and let me tell you there is no better high than being a part of the energy exchange between musicians and their audience. As we get down harder, their music just gets more intense and raw. . .and so we dance harder, and they play harder, and so on. The music just takes over your entire body. It becomes such and incredible, amazing exchange of energy. It's magic. It's a total, natural high. :D Not sure where you live or what type of beats you dig, but there has got to be something out there that moves you, that rocks your soul and leaves your body and mind buzzing just like raw food does. :D

Hey Doe,
My mom and dad have a place in Ft. Myers. It seems to be always warm there...not sure where Homestead is!
Stay warm......LOL!!!! coming from the north and all! LOL!!!!
Thanks,
Pansy ;)
Monkey Boy
I think all responses were great--some of my thoughts are~
if you live in the North like me--March is a rut time for me...I am ready for winter to be over so I can get back to outdoor exercise and plenty of sun. I find I ALWAYS want to take a day out of work and go somewhere exciting and sunny....and quiet so I can recharge and get back to my HIGH VIBE state.
My spiritual guide told me by eating so clean I easily pick up on others energies and that can lower my high VIBES...
Just my 2 cents:)

There is a whole world of possibility beyond just raw foods!!!
juice fasting
water fasting
eliminating overly sweet fruits
eating minimally
experimenting with mono, & new foods
taking fitness to the next level
growing your own food
superfoods
i don't think we ever reach "it" with our diets, and we always have the opportunity to take it to the next level when we plateau. and then of course there is the whole world beyond what we eat ;)

Monky boy, I got this in a newsletter from Alan Cohen and thought it might help you right now. www.alancohen.com
I know you have done a lot in your life to make it great physically, emotionally, and spiritually, but I thought this might help since it is talking about hitting that wall every year and you said this happens every six months or so. Maybe you have kept the good and the great, but now you are ready to keep only the magnificent in your life.
I hope I'm not too much of a newbie to be able to send you something that may help.
Pam
From Alan Cohen's newsletter:
A friend of mine named Alice was feeling frustrated and overwhelmed, so she went to visit her guru and told him of her predicament.
"My child," he told her lovingly. "Simplify, simplify, simplify. Get rid of the bad and keep the good."
Alice went home and made a list of what was working in her life and what was not. Methodically she released what did not bring her joy, and kept what energized her. Her life changed significantly for the better, and her heart came to greater peace.
A year later Alice again began to feel burdened and less than fully alive. Again she sojourned to visit her guru, and described her experience. "My dear one," the master told her again. "Do you not remember what I told you last year? Simplify, simplify, simply. Let go of the good and keep the great."
Alice returned to the world she had built and once again sorted out her life, this time releasing what was merely good, but not great. She decided she would live only from dignity and participate in only those activities that she found soul-empowering.
Another year went by, and again Alice felt stuck. Again she flew to her teacher and reported her distress. "My sweet soul," the sage answered, "you have obviously not fully understood my teaching. I want you to go home and really practice, now, and do not return with the same question again. Remember: simplify, simplify, simplify. Let go of the great, and keep only the magnificent."
