I have my 2 year old grand daughter for a few days. She decided to take a hike down to the main road, which is suicide believe me. By the time I figured out where she was I had to really open it up on my running to catch her before she caused a problem on our busy road. I was completely out of breath by the time I caught her. Here I thought I was doing pretty well with my running. Goes to show me not to get too cockey. Of course I have only been back on the raw food eating plan for about 10 days so I have alot of work to do. I thin after I lose some weight the running will come easier maybe. She sure scared me, that was more excitement then I wanted today. Judy

The fact you were able to run and catch her, albeit a bit out of breath, is good accomplishment !

Yes I am also glad that I was able to catch her. I was a little discouraged that my running is still in such bad shape though. I'm working on it a little every day. Judy

when I kick up my running in the Spring after lazy treadmill runs in the winter I do short sprint drill to improve my conditioning. I will look ahead to a mailbox, a tree or other landmark and sprint to it...and if I feel like i cannot make it at that pace, well I push myself. In a short amount of time I will notice that I can run longer and faster from these drill. Start off with 2- 3 per run..then keep adding a few more. Then eventually I can drop them out and just run at a overall faster pace.

I'm recovering from bad diet itis, so that is probably alot of my stamina problem. I try and do sprints and I keep the advice Billy Blanks gave on one of his Taebo Tapes and work thru the burn. I'm alot farther along then I was a couple of weeks ago. Do you do marathons? my daughter is thinking of doing a local 10k but she hasn't had as much training as she would have liked to get in. I'm a recreational runner. If I can get my 12 to 15 miles a week I'm happy. Judy   :) :D

dittto what rawfigure said.
sprint and interval workouts. (at the least 2 times per week) See how important it is to be able to sprint in order to catch babies and what not? keep up the good work.
