I am asking, because I lost around 20 pounds, which I am happy about and I am not very thin(size somewhere between 6 and 8), but my ribs show a lot in my upper chest. I probably got them, because my family ate tons of milk products, so I am wondering if raw foods will change that? I heard it takes 7 years for skeletal turnaround, so can I expect it happen in those 7 years? Or will I need to be bony the rest of my life?

Being a raw foodist wont change your current bone structure and it certaintly wont make them shrink in any way. Bone structure is mostly determined by genetics and has little to do with dairy intake, in fact people who eat lots of dairy and meat products have been shown to have high rates of osteoperosis. If you pay attention to your diet and eat enough raw foods that are high in calcium or take supplements like coral calcium, you'll probably have very healthy bones for the rest of your life. I have a very strong bone structure as well and they stick out everywhere like my wrists, ribs, hips, knees, and cheekbones lol u get the idea. Your bones are your bones and raw food will only make them better(providing you get enough calcium through raw foods and/or vegan supplements) but it wont make them smaller. Strong bones are awesome so learn to love em'! :)

But bones do change- people who gain a lot of weight, do get bigger bones, because the old type of bones would not even support the new weight. And our cells do get build again, and if they are build from new material, they must be different, don't they?

^^ Thank you.
I thought I did eat most of those foods quite often... I guess I will just have to start revolving my meals around those foods...

good question, not sure about the bone thing.
In theory, your bone density would change, although your skeletal structure wouldn't.
And yet, I do believe that anything is possible, so there you go.

Greeninlosangeles, so many things affect bone density. Exercise, for example. Building muscle builds bone.
Tahini and parsley are loaded with calcium but keep in mind that good overall mineral balance is the key. And it's true that the countries with the highest dairy consumption also have the highest osteoporosis rates (those are actual statistics...) so don't let your M.D. browbeat you! ;)
