anybody have any information about sunflower oil?

i never knew there were oils beyond olive oil until joining this forum :D

anyway..i bought some organic "raw" sunflower oil..and i like the taste better.

am i going to die from some sunflower-oil-induced disease, or am i in the clear with this? :p

(just a joke, two sides to every story always, i know :) )

ive never read up alot on sunflower oil beyond knowing that its gonna be high in vitamin e which is good for heart , veins , skin , wound healing and its a good antioxidant , and its said vita e slows aging . but i see youve never tried alot of oils so wanted to say i too used mostly olive oil before experimenting and the best one i found is grape seed oil , its pricey but it has no bite , just mild . good day ps- on oil if dont know everyone always says get cold pressed

I think coconut oil and olive oil tend to be the ones most used in raw food, because they are the ones with the simplist processing, that usually keeps them in their natural state.

If you can get unrefind oils in other types thuogh that are cold pressed they'd be a great addition. I think variety is part of the fun of raw! I'm going to track down some organic olive oil next week from a grower in South Australia. I'm looking forward to having a chat with them and seeing if we can source raw unheated oils from them too.

Enjoy your exploration!

Cheers,
Sheryl
