I have a question, if anyone can answer.

I'm sort of in the middle of making some pretty serious lifestyle changes concerning my diet and health. At the moment, my diet is nowhere near super healthy. I've been juicing for the last couple months, however, and have made some minor changes here and there...just to get started. I drink nothing but distilled water (and the juice that I make, obviously), and I drink around a gallon per day. I've switched to natural soap and toothpaste, and aluminumm free deodorant. I'm on and off with dairy, though I eat a lot less of it now than ever before. Less white bread, WAY less pasta, etc. Basically, just easing into health...rather slowly at this point because I have some consideration about trying to maintain my weight before jumping straight into raw, vegan, etc.

What I've noticed is that whenever I make juice, later in the day, I end uo feeling pretty rotten, I get body aches, stiffness, serious fatigue, the occasional low grade fever, and I've developed some very mild rashes recently. My psoriasis has started to get a little worse. My question is: even though I'm not living a super healthy lifestyle...could the juice be making me detox? On days that I don't drink juice, I feel better than on the days when I do drink juice. Just wondering if it's connected or if anyone else has experienced something similar.

Hiya Shmoopie!

Juices are concentrated. for example, beets that are cleansing to the liver would be alot more potent in juice form than eating the beet with its flesh and all.

on the days you do juice, are you eating these less healthy foods as well?

if you are juicing than a most definate YES! the potency of live raw juices have powerful medicinal effects.

you mentioned auto immune condtion psoriasis which I have myself. Chronic fatigue tends to facet into this condtion often times as well. Psoriasis can also affect joints so ..............

Can you outline your menu and what you are juicing?

Does it mean it is making you worse? I would say the back and forth of jucing and consuming less healthy may hinder your digestive system and such.....psoriasis tend to be linked to leaky gut syndrome..........I have successfully healed mine about 90%

How long have you had psoriasis and what other health issues ---digestive?

Wow! Where to start lol

I've had psoriasis for about 3 years. I have it on my scalp and elbows. It's consistent on my elbows. That was the first palce I noticed it, and it's the only place I've had it on my body that just won't go away. Spots have popped up on my knees, arms, legs, torso, and face...and with a few different (mostly natural) substances, I've gotten rid of them. The elbows are stubborn.

No digestive problems. These past few months, I've been dealing with some sort of condition that I'm still in the process of figuring out. Actually I have yet another appointment with the doctor today. So far, it strongly resembles lymphoma, I'm sad to say...but time and tests will tell, I suppose. The symptoms are swollen lymph nodes throughout my neck (some hard and unmovable, some not), fatigue, low grade fevers, itching, sometimes, a difficulty with swallowing due to the discomfort in in my neck with all the swollen lymph nodes. When I drink juice, these symptoms get WAY worse...so I wonder if part of it is me detoxing something. When I don't drink juice, the symptoms are usually more tolerable, though not always.

I've not been diagnosed with CFS or anything else really, so I'm not aware of any other possible health problems, other than generally low immune function caused by my own bad eating habits and smoking (which stops tomorrow - thank God).

I do eat the crappy foods on the same days that I juice. Can't wait to change my diet.
